Palazzo Spinola in Pellicceria

Oggi finalmente sono andata a visitare Palazzo Spinola in Pellicceria. Da anni volevo andare ma, per una ragione o per l'altra, non riuscivo mai a ritagliare quelle 2 o 3 orette per farlo.

Per chi non lo sapesse, Genova è ricchissima di Musei e Palazzi museali, si dice che ne abbia addirittura più di Firenze, ben conservati e ben curati.

Uno di questi è Palazzo Spinola che fino al 1959 era di proprietà dei marchesi Spinola che per testamento lo donarono allo Stato Italiano affinchè potesse rappresentare l'esempio di una dimora nobiliare. Infatti nei 2 piani nobili non ci sono etichette o didascalie proprio per non intaccare l'atmosfera "domestica" che vi si respira.

Il palazzo è stato costruito nel 1593 e costantemente restaurato e decorato fino alla fine del 1800. Faceva parte dei Rolli per cui aveva anche funzioni di rappresentanza.

Purtroppo non è permesso fare fotografie all'interno, sono riuscita a farne solo un paio con la complicità della custode, ma fidatevi se vi dico che è una vera reggia e che vi sono custoditi capolavori di mobili, quadri e arredi.

Palazzo Spinola in Pellicceria

Today, at last, I managed to go and visit Palazzo Spinola in Pellicceria. It was years since I wanted to go but, for some reason or another, I have never been able to steal those 2 or 3 hours to do it .

For those who do no know, Genoa is very rich in museums and palaces, someone says more than Florence, well kept and preserved.

One of those is Palazzo Spinola which belonged to Marquises Spinola until 1959 when they left it in their will to the Italian Government in order to show the example of a noble house. In fact in the 2 main floors there are not labels or writings on pictures or furniture not to waste the "domestic" appeareance.

The Palace was built in 1593 and it has been constantely redecorated and refurbished until the end of 1800. It was part of the Rolli so it also had representative functions.

Alas it is forbidden to take pictures inside, I only managed to take a couple with the takecarer's complicity but you can trust me if I tell you thatit is a real royal paplace and that it contains unique masterpieces of furniture, pictures and decorations.

I took the pic of the chandelier on Linda's sake: it is nearly 2 metres wide. Really lustrous.

1- amo Genova, la mia città. Amo il suo centro storico, il più grande d'Europa, i suoi angoli nascosti, il suo mare e perfino il carattere riservato dei suoi abitanti.

2- amo Londra. E' stata la città della mia giovinezza e  ho troppi bei ricordi per non amarla.

3- amo la Provenza, perchè la vita è piacevole e rilassata, i paesi sono curati e ospitali e Walter ed io vorremmo vivere lì la nostra vita da pensionati...tra circa 30 anni!

4- amo i mercatini di brocantage, mi diverte immaginare la passata vita degli oggetti.

5- amo i bambini, tutti i bambini, sono la più grande benedizione.

6-amo la focaccia, vero vanto Genovese e solo da noi è così buona !!

7- amo la mia famiglia e miei amici sopra ogni altra cosa, senza di loro sarei nulla.

1- I love Genoa, my own city. I love its historical center, the widest in Europe, its hidden corners, its sea and even the akward character of its inhabitants.

2- I love London. It has been the city of my youth and I have too many wonderful memories not to love it.

3- I love Provence, because life is pleasant and easy going, the villages are well kept and friendly and Walter and I would like to live there when we retire... may be in 30 years to come!

4- I love brocante markets, I have fun trying to imagine former life of objects.

5-I love children, all children. They are the biggest blessing.

6- I love focaccia, real Genoise pride. In no place it is as good as here !!

7- I love my family and friends above anything else, I would be nothing withot them.

FINALMENTE !!!

Dopo SOLO 34 giorni dalla spedizione è arrivato a casa mia lo splendido, fantastico vaso che Linda mi aveva spedito.

Insieme c'era il suo fratellino, il portacandele più carino che abbia mai visto.

Sono davvero felice di queste meraviglie che, per ora, alloggeranno nel cassetto del tipografo e poi troveranno una dimora più adeguata.

Sono però furiosa con le Poste e la Dogana che mi fatto aspettare così tanto e mi ha fatto pagare €11.59 di tasse e diritti doganali !!! un vero furto.

Sappiate però che, se sulla dichiarazione doganale viene scritto un valore inferiore a €22.00, non si paga nulla.

Ricordatelo in caso di futuri swap fuori dalla Comunità Europea.

AT LAST !!!

After ONLY 34 days the  wonderful, beautiful vase that Linda sent me has arrived home.

Along with it there was its little brother, the sweetest candle holder I have ever seen.

I am truly happy of these wonders which, up to now, will take place in the type drawer and eventually they'll have a more proper accomodation.

I'm raging against Mail and Custom Office which have made me wait so long and that have made me pay € 11.59 = $15.00 of taxes and duties !!! a real robbery.

Anyway you have to know that, if you write a value lower than  €22.00, on the Custom label, than you do not have to pay anything at all.

Remember that in case of future swaps out of European Community.

Durante il fine settimana sono stata pigra, niente mini.

Domenica la giornata era troppo bella per stare a casa e infatti siamo andati sulle alture.

Nella foto potete vedere Genova dal campo pratica del Cus Golf. 

Per chi non la conoscesse vi dirò che Genova ha una forma strana: non  cresce intorno ad un centro ma si sviluppa in lunghezza. Infatti è stretta tra mare e colline.

Quella che vedete è a sua massima larghezza. Ciò è fonte di stupore per chi arrivando in aereo la vede per la prima volta : tanti non credono di essere arrivati ad una città.

Oggi invece ho finito di tappezzare il cassetto da tipografo per le mie mini. L'ho trovato, in pessime condizioni, da un robivecchi e come al solito il mio papà ha fatto il miracolo restaurandolo.

Ci sono tanti  vuoti, tanto spazio per nuove mini.

During the weekend I've been lazy, no minis.

Sunday was too much a gorgeous day to stay at home and we've gone to the hills.

In the pic you can see Genoa from the Cus Golf Practice Course.

For those who do not know Genoa I'll say that it has a strange shape: it does not grow around a center but it developes in length. In fact it is squeezed between sea and hills.

What you see is its maximum width. This is source of surprise for those who see it for the first time coming by plane: many do not believe they have arrived to the actual town.

Today I finished to paper my tipesetter drawer. I found it, in very poor conditions, in a thrifty shop and , as usual, my dad has worked out a miracle restauring it.

There are many empty holes, lot of space for new minis.

soufflé

Chi non vorrebbe essere come lei?
Audrey è un'icona, un mito, una leggenda. Assolutamente inimitabile ma così piacevole da guardare e riguardare nei suoi film.
La cosa più incredibile, secondo me, è che pur sembrando assolutamente perfetta sia così amata dalle donne.
Perbacco, dovremmo odiarla, è un traguardo irragiungibile e invece... non possiamo fare a meno di ammirarla incondizionatamente.
L'unico modo che ho per tentare di assomigliarle è la preparazione del soufflè, vi ricordate Sabrina?
Anzi, forse sono più brava io e questa è una soddisfazione ;o))

40 gr burro
40 gr farina
300 ml latte
4 uova
50 gr parmigiano
50 gr ennemthal
100 gr prosciutto cotto
sale, pepe, burro, pangrattato

Preparare una besciamella con il latte, il burro e la farina.
Quando è pronta unirvi i formaggi tritati e il prosciutto a dadini. Unire sale e pepe a piacere.
Unire i tuorli uno per volta, mescolando bene per amalgamarli al composto.
Unire gli albumi montati a neve molto soda e versare il composto in uno stampo imburrato da 14/15 cm e coperto di pangrattato.
Fate attenzione a lasciare puliti 2 cm dal bordo per formare il camino altrimenti il soufflè non monterà.
Cuocere in forno a 165° per 35/40 min.
Mangiatelo appena sfornato.
Il mio non è altissimo perchè purtroppo il mio stampo è troppo largo.

Who would not love to be like her?
Audrey is an icon, a myth, a legend. Absolutely inimitable and yet so pleasant to look over and over in her movies.
The most incredible thing, to me, is how much she is loved by women even though she looks near to perfection.
My goodness, we should hate her, she is an unarrivable goal and yet... we cannot avoid to unconditionnally admire her.
The only mean I have to be a bit like her is to prepare a soufflè, do you remenber Sabrina?
Well, may be I'm even better than she was and that's a satifaction ;o))

40 gr butter
40 gr flour
300 ml milk
4 eggs
50 gr parmesean cheese
50 gr emmenthal
100 gr ham
sal, pepper, butter, grated bread

Prepare a bechamel sauce with milk, flour and butter.
When cooked mix in the grated cheese and the coarsely chopped ham. Season with salt and pepper.
Add the yolks, one by one, stirring well before adding the new one.
Add the whites wisked until they form very stiff picks and pour the batter in a ceramic mould ( 14/15 cm) buttered and covered with grated bread.
Pay attention to leave a clean border of at least 2 cm to make the socalled chimney and allow the soufflè to rise.
Cook in oven at a 165° for 35/40 minutes.
Eat it immediately out of the oven.
Mine is not that tall because my mould was too large.

Grazie al tutorial di Casey   sono riuscita a fare il mio primo lampadario. Finalmente ho usato un po' dei gingilli di ottone che compro sempre a Miniaturitalia e che difficilmente adopero.

La base è a 5 braccia con un disegno di fiori e foglie per cui mi sembra adatto alla camera di una ragazzina. Dovrò farne una nella mia casetta.

 E' piaciuto anche a Walter che mi ha detto, serio serio: " Questo te lo tieni per te, vero?"

Ebbene sì, questo è tutto per me ;o))

chandelier

Thanks to Casey's tutorial I was able to do my first chandelier. At last I used some of the brass goodies that I keep buying at Miniaturitalia and which I seldom employ.

The base has 5 arms shaped as flowers and leaves, it seems suitable for a young girl's room.

I'll have to do one in my house.

Even Walter appreciated it and he seriously told me: " You are going to keep this one, aren't you?".

Yes, this is all for me ;o))

un tavolo tutto per me

Mio papà ha costruito una nuova scrivania per Walter ( che vi mostrerò un'altra volta) ed io mi sono ripresa il MIO tavolino.
E' molto vecchio, circa 100 anni, fatto di faggio e legno di limone e sta giusto giusto in un angolino del soggiorno/sala da pranzo/sala tv ecc ecc. E soprattutto ha un cassetto! Oh gioia.
La cartolina è attaccata al piede della lampada, è un regalo di Sans e viene da Taiwan: non sono stata molto brava a ritagliarla ma rende l'idea della tridimensionalità.

a table just for me

My Dad has built a new table for Walter ( I'll show it another time) and I have taken back MY table.

It's very old, nearly 100 years, made in beech and lemon wood, and it is exactly the size of a little corner in our drawing/living/eating/tv room etc etc. And more over it has a drawer! Oh joy.

The postcard is taped on the lamp foot, it is a gift from Sans and it comes from Taiwan: I've not been very good a cutting it but it has a three dimensional effect.

buon compleanno fratellino

Oggi il mio fratellino compie 40 anni.
Mi sembra impossibile che lui, il piccolo di casa, sia di colpo cresciuto così tanto. Il fatto che lui abbia già 40 anni mi fa sentire vecchissima.
Non ho messo una foto recente perchè non so se l'avrebbe apprezzato.
Spero invece che apprezzi i miei auguri: TANTI AUGURI ALESSANDRO.
Ti voglio bene come e più di quando eri il mio piccolino, sono felice che tu sia mio fratello e sono molto orgogliosa di te.

happy birtday little brother

Today my little brother turns 40.
It seem impossible that he, the house littlest one, has suddenly grown so much.
His being 40 makes me feel very old.
I didn't post a recent pic beacause I was not sure he would appreciate.
Instead I hope that he'll appreciate my greetings: HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALESSANDRO.
I love you as much and even more as when you were my littleone, I'm happy you are my brother and I'm very proud of you.

Ieri a casa di un amico ho notato il suo mousepad: una perfetta riproduzione di un tappeto Boukara con frange e tutto. E' stampato, non tessuto, ma al tatto sembra davvero un tappeto soffice e lanoso.
Lui l'ha comprato a Dubai, che non è proprio dietro l'angolo, ma ho trovato il sito internet e, udite udite, vendono per posta e vengono dall'Inghilterra.
Ci sono tantissimi modelli per tutti i gusti dal classico all'etnico ed esistono in due formati: Mouserug che per noi può essere un tappeto da salotto e Coasterrug delle dimensioni di uno scendiletto.
Andate a curiosare ( non ho la percentuale :o)) perchè sono davvero belli.

Yesterday at a friend's home I spotted his mousepad: a perfect reproduction of a Boukara carpet complete with fringes and everything. It is printed, non woven, but when touched it really is soft and wolly.
He bought it in Dubai, which is not exactly round the corner, but I found the web site and, listen listen, they have a eshop and they come from England.
There are many models suitable to any taste from classic to ethnic and they come in two sizes: Mouserug which could be a drawing room carpet and Coasterrug more useful near beds.
Go and have a look ( I take no percentage :o)) because they are really beautiful.

This is an aswer to the kind people who asked me why.
I sworn off minis nearly two years ago, May 2007, when my beloved Mamma suddenly passed away.
She was in perfect health and only 65, but an aneurism killed her in no minutes.
We were under a shock.
She was my biggest fan and we had much fun together. I simply couldn't stand any more something which had been ours.
I gave up my dollhouse, nearly all my collection and made a decision.
Last september I changed my mind but even now there is a hint of pain in what I do: I'd like to show her the new things, tell her about the blog and the people I met.
Now I'm playing alone and I miss her too much.

In questo momento sto ricamando, se non velocemente di sicuro furiosamente, perciò non ho niente di nuovo da farvi vedere.
Ho deciso allora di mostrarvi un vecchio lavoro : la stanza rosa.
Ne sono molto fiera perchè è la prima cosa che ho fatto l'anno scorso dopo aver giurato che mai più avrei fatto mini. Mi ero ripromessa di non comprare niente e ci sono quasi riuscita.

At the moment I'm stitching, if not fast at least furious , hence I've nothing new to show to you.
Then I decided to show you an old work: the pink room.
I'm very proud of it because it's the first thing I did after having sworn of not having anything to do with minis anymore. I did promised myself not to buy anything and I nearly succeded.

il tappeto di Roberta

Questo è il tappeto che ho fatto per la roombox di Roberta. E' un bagno che sta preparando per la sua mamma e mancava un tappetino.
Roberta mi ha dato un pezzo della tappezzeria che ha usato e un pezzo della cornice dello specchio che, ahimè, si è rotto ma ha lo stesso decoro dei sanitari così mi sono inventata un semplice disegno che li riprendesse.
E' molto più grande dei miei soliti ricami: ho usato la tela Aida a 72 fori con 1 filo di Mouliné.
Roby, ti piace ? dimmi di sì.

Roberta's rug

This is the rug for Roberta's roombox. She is doing a mini bathroom for her Mum and she was in need of a rug.
Roberta gave me a piece of the wallpaper she used and a piece of the mirror frame which, alas, has broken but it has the same decor of the toilet and sink. Thus I could make up a simple pattern similar to the main decor.
It is much bigger than my usual stitchings: I used tela Aida, I think you call it Hadanger, with 18 holes /inch with 1 strand of Mouliné floss.
Roby, do you like it? tell me yes.

My dearest British bloggers we need your help.
We are planning a trip to UK next late summer, ie from August 24th to September 7th.
We are going to Scotland and that's not a problem, although Walter and Matteo have never been there I know it a bit hence I know how to move there, but...
We'd like to go back to London by car and I'd like to know which are the best places to visit. I'd love to go to Yorkshire and the Lake District. I've already been in Midlands and I know pretty well the region around Birmingham.
We have 13 full days, not counting the first and the last one which will be taken by flights.
We'd like to stay a week in Scotland, THEY want to stay 3 days in London, hence will have only 3 days to travel from Edimburgh to London.
Can you suggest us anything worth visiting in such a short span of time?
I know that any place would deserve much more time but we'll try to do our best with what we got.

Oggi ho ricevuto tre pacchetti da tre amiche di blog e davvero non so da dove partire.
Per prima cosa GRAZIE, tutto questo affetto è così inaspettato e gradito che davvero mi commuove profondamente.
Eva, Katie e Marsha mi hanno spedito tante cosine ma soprattutto ciascuna di loro mi ha scritto un biglietto e mi ha fatto sentire importante.
Katie mi ha mandato le cannucce ricordandosi così del mio commento e due magnifici mini libri con le pagine scritte! davvero incredibili. E un sacco di filato da ricamo... è forse un suggerimento ? ;o))
Eva mi ha mandato tutte cose fatte da lei, bottoni, stelline e quel pendente con la viola che aveva postato sul suo blog: credetemi, la foto non gli rende giustizia.
Marsha mi ha mandato il kit della ricamatrice: fili, forbici, metro e soprattutto la teiera e la tazza per il tè, senza i quali non prendo neppure l'ago in mano. E poi tanti altri oggettini, uno più bello dell'altro.
Dire grazie non mi sembra sufficiente ma sappiate che viene dal cuore.

I do not know how to begin....
Today I received presents from three blog friends and I really do not know how to start.
First thing THANK YOU, all this affection is so unespected and welcomed that truly touches me deeply.
Eva, Katie and Marsha sent me lots of goodies and most important they have all written a card to me and this makes me feel very important.
Katie sent me the drinking straws, thus remembering my comment on her blog and two magnificent books with written pages! truly unbelievable. And a lot of embroidery floss...may be it is a suggestion? ;o))
Eva sent me all hand made things, buttons, little stars and the violet charm that you have seen on her blog: trust me, the pic doesn't give it justice.
Marsha sent me the stitcher's kit: floss, scissors, measuring tape and more over a teapot and a cup, without which I do not even touch the needle. and many other goodies, one cuter than the others.
Thank you doesn't sound enough but believe that it comes from my heart.

giacinti e mastelli

Dovete sapere che Sylvia molto gentilmente mi ha mandato tutto l'occorrente per fare i giacinti.
Non mi sono precipitata a farli perchè volevo che avessero una collocazione adeguata dentro vasi che mi piacessero.
Sempre ispirata al lavoro di Sylvia e Marlies mi sono data da fare con carta e vernici e ho costruito cinque mastelli, dopodichè ho invecchiato dei vasi terracotta.
A questo punto, abbastanza soddisfatta del risultato, ho fatto i giacinti e li ho invasati.
Ecco il risultato.
....se solo avessi la casa dove metterli.

I didn't rush to do them because I wanted to give them a proper collocation inside vases which I liked.
Always inspired by Sylvia's and Marlies' work I have worked with paper and vernish and I made up five tubs, after that I aged some terracotta pots.
At this point, being quite happy with the result, I did the hyanciths and I planted them.
Here is the result.
....if only I had a house where place them in.

Spero abbiate passato una piacevole giornata sia ieri che oggi. Purtroppo a Genova e dintorni ieri non è stata una bellissima giornata ma ci siamo arrangiati lo stesso.
Nella foto potete ammirare Walter sul campo pratica prima della gara: la gara non è andata proprio come si sperava ma la prossima volta sarà meglio.
In compenso le abituali frequentatrici del campo erano felicissime, il tempo umido le si confà.

I hooe you have spent a nice day both yesterday and today. Unfortunately yesterday was not great weather in Genoa and roundabouts but we have made up our day all the same.
In the pic you can admire Walter in the practice field just before the match: unfortunately it has not gone as we hoped but next time it will be better.
Any way the usual dwellers of the field were more than happy, wet weather becomes them.

May be you have noticed that I have created a gallery of my latest stitching works.
They are only the last ones because, alas, I've never done copies, I've always given them away as gifts and most important I've never taken pictures of my little works. They are all one of a kind and the patterns never repeat.

Ancora niente giacinti, sto facendo dei vasi speciali solo per loro, però un tocco primaverile ci vuole.

Domenica ero sola in casa, Matteo era fuori, Walter era al campo da golf, pioveva così non potevo uscire allora mi sono inventata dei cestini pasquali. Solo carta e un po' di stoffa ma mi sono divertita.

Easter hampers

Still no hyacinths, I'm doing some special vases for them, but there is need of a spring touch.

Last Sunday I was alone at home, Matteo was out, Walter was at the golf course, it was raining and I couldn't go out thus I made up some Easter hampers. Only some paper and some fabric but I had fun.

Oggi ho ricevuto posta dall' Olanda. Qualche tempo fa ho scritto a Sylvia chiedendole dei suoi giacinti e lei è stata così gentile da mandarmi il materiale e le dritte per farli.

Non contenta mi mandato anche due mazzi di tulipani, piccolissimi e bellissimi, e una brocca di smalto.

Non so se stasera farò in tempo ma domani sicuramente vi mostrerò i miei giacinti. Grazie Sylvia

Today I got mail from the Nederlands. Some time ago I wrote Sylvia to ask her about her jacints and she has been so kind to send me the materials and the tut to do them.

Not happy with it she has sent me two bunches of the smallest and cutest tulips and a rounded enamelled jar.

I do not know if I'll have time tonight but tomorrow I'll show you my jacints. Thank you Sylvia.

earthquake

Very short one.
THANK YOU everyone for your concern.
No, we are not hurt. Genoa is at the North West side of Italy and we didn't feel anything but down in the middle Italy there has been a major event and, worst of all, it happened in the middle of the night.
They are still digging out people and there are not sure reports of how many victims this earthquake has done.
At the moment there are more than 50.000 people left homeless.
There is nothing to do other than say a prayer for the victims and give a serious help to those who have lost everything.

Dopo una luuunga sosta in Dogana, finalmente è arrivato il pacchetto di Mercedes. Forse per nave avrebbe fatto prima e non lo avrebbero caricato di tasse. Sono infuriata con la Dogana Italiana!
Ma sono molto grata a Mercedes: nel pacchetto c'erano tante altre casette per gli uccelli, un vaso di vetro/perla e un bellissimo libro di schemi per.... casette per gli uccelli. Mi piace da morire.

After a loooong stay at the Custom Office today Mercedes' parcel has arrived. May be by ship it'd have been quicker and they wouldn't have loaded it with taxes. I am raging with Italian Custom!
but I'm grateful towards Mercedes: in the parcel there were many other birdhouses, a glass bead/vase and a great patterns book of ... birdhouses. I like it to bits.
Again thank you very much Mercedes.

torte per matrimoni

Come forse vi ricorderete ho cominciato a fare una scatola per un matrimonio.
La scatola non è ancora pronta, in questo periodo ho ricamato tanto, ma ieri pomeriggio ho preparato tre torte per il matrimonio.
Bastava una ma mi divertivo troppo. La torta a pois sarà quella di Marta: è giovane, fresca e graziosa proprio come lei. Le altre... me le terrò io!
Nel contempo ho fatto anche dei Quaresimali, tipici dolci genovesi di pasta di mandorle e zucchero a forma di fiore o losanga. Così detti perchè potevano essere consumati durante la Quaresima; infatti non contenendo burro o uova venivano considerati "di magro".
La golosità umana se le inventa tutte per barare!

wedding cakes

May be you'll remember that I begun doing a bridal box.
The box isn't ready yet, I stiched too much in the last period, but yesterday I prepared three wedding cakes.
One should have been enough but I had too much fun. The polkadot cake will be Marta's: it's young, fresh and pretty as she is. The others.... I'll take for me!
At the same time I did some Quaresimali (Quaresima = Lent) , tipical Genoise sweets made of almonds and sugar in shape of flowers or diamonds. They were said so because they could be eaten during Lent; in fact being made without butter or eggs they were considererd suitable for fasting time.
Human greediness makes up all the excuses to cheat!

Oggi tornando a casa per pranzo ho trovato nella cassetta una grande busta.
Non volevo credere ai miei occhi! la lettera di Mercedes, o meglio la seconda lettera, perchè è stata così carina da spedirmene un'altra visto che della prima si sono perse le tracce.
Non vi dico come ero contenta! ho perfino chiamato mio padre per dirglielo e poi ho cominciato a fotografare. Dopodichè ho scritto a Mercedes perchè mi ha commossa.
La busta conteneva un SACCO di regalini, le sue fantastiche casine per gli uccelli ( in due taglie), quadretti, due cornici, una con Liberty e una pronta per Matteo, le scarpine di Liberty, una microborsa e un fantastico libro di schemi per il punto croce. E non meno importante una lettera.
La lettera mi ha toccato perchè rende tutto molto personale e pensato.
Ora vado a mangiare e scappo a lavorare ma GRAZIE Mercedes.

Today coming back home for lunch I found in the mailbox a big envelope.
I couldn't believe my eyes! Mercedes' letter, or rather the second one, because she has been so nice to send me another one since we lost any trace of the first parcel.
Cannot tell you how I was happy! I even called my dad to tell him and then I begun taking pictures. Then I wrote to Mercedes because she has moved me.
The envelope contained a LOT of goodies, her wonderful birdhouses ( in two sizes), pictures, two frames, one with Liberty's pic and one ready for Matteo's, Liberty's tiny walkers, A microbag and a great book of patterns. And last but not least , a letter.
The letter touched me because it makes everything more personal and thought for.
Now I have to go, have lunch and hurry back at work but THANK YOU Mercedes.

Finalmente è arrivato un pacchetto anche per me. Grazie (grrrr) alle Poste Italiane sembra che non ci sia mai posta per me, non arriva mai niente.
Oggi invece ho avuto la bella sorpresa di ricevere il pacchetto di Susan di Singapore.
La scatola è già bellissima con una splendida immagine del suo futuro palazzo e dentro c'è un'intera collezione di teierine!
Io le colleziono (grandi e piccole) perciò non poteva scegliere meglio.

At last it has arrived a parcel for me too. Thanks (grrrr) to Italian Mail it seems that there is never mail for me, nothing ever finds the way of my home.
But today I had the beautiful surprise of receiving a parcel by Susan from Singapore.
The box itself is beautiful with a splendid picture ot hers going to be Palace and inside there is a whole collection of small teapots!
I collect them, either small and big, therefore she couldn't choose any better.
