Da un po' di tempo non scrivo ma non pensiate che sono stata con le mani in mano...tutto il contrario!

Solo che ho fatto cose che non posso mostrare finchè non arrivano a destinazione.

Per compensare il buco nei post ieri sera ho fatto la mia prima borsina ( copiando Roberta che saluto caldamente http://ilboratoriodipiotosfora.blogspot.com/).

E' una cosina semplice una volta fatta ma non ne ero così convinta all'inizio: non amo la paglia intrecciata.

Poichè Mercedes ha ricevuto il suo pacchetto posso mostrarvi i miei ultimi ricami.

Di solito i miei cuscini hanno un davanti e un dietro ma ripensandoci non è molto utile. Infatti con lo stesso lavoro si possono avere due cuscini al posto di uno. Penso che continuerò a dividerli: a meno che non voglia creare un po' di suspence....

Ora sto ricamando una cosina per un'amica che abita lontano lontano. Sto facendo il fondo ed è un po' noioso ma mi sembra che stia venendo bene ;o))

pillows

Since Mercedes has got her parcel I can show you my last stitches.

Usually my pillows have a front and a back side but thinking over it that is not sensible. In fact with the same amount of work you can get two pillows instead of one. I think I'll keep splitting them: unless I want to create some drama ....

Now I'm stitching a small thing for a friend who lives far far away. I'm doing the background and it's quite boring but it is getting cute to my eyes ;o))

truffles

Oggi niente mini ma ho fatto i cioccolatini.
Debbie ci ha insegnato a fra le minitruffles, io vi passo la ricetta per quelli veri.

100 gr nocciole o mandorle tritate grossolanamente
100 gr zucchero a velo
100 gr cacao amaro
200 gr mascarpone
2 cucchiai di liquore a piacere oppure latte se non volete alcool

Mescolate tutto insieme, formate delle palline e rotolatele nel cacao amaro o nelle codette di zucchero.
Facile come bere un bicchiere d'acqua.

truffles

Today no minis but I've done choco truffles.
Debbie has taught us to do minis truffles, I'll give the recipe for real ones.

100 gr hazelnuts or almonds coarsly grounded
100 gr powder sugar
100 gr bitter cocoa powder
200 gr mascarpone
2 spoons of rhum or cognac or milk if you do not want alcool

Mix everything together, form little balls and roll them in cocoa powder or sugar bits.
Easy peasy, lemon squeezy ( is that right Mercedes?)

Nel pomeriggio ci siamo viste a casa di Roberta per il nostro incontro mensile.

E' sempre piacevole incontrarci e questa volta, tanto per cambiare, abbiamo prodotto qualcosina. Oggi è stata la volta dei fiori: abbiamo fatto un vaso di ciclamini e delle rose.

Niente da paragonare alle meraviglie che ci sono in rete!! ma un buon motivo per incontrarci e far quattro risate.

Today it has been flowers: we have done a pot of ciclamini and some roses.

tribù di pinguini

Oggi ho fatto una tribù di pinguini!

Dovete saper che qualche giorno fa sono stata chiamata da Suor Giannarosa, l'insegnante delle elementari di Matteo. E' una donna eccezionale, di rara intelligenza e capacità e le siamo rimasti tutti molto affezionati.

Per farla in breve mi chiedeva aiuto per oggi pomeriggio a scuola per fare un non meglio specificato lavoretto. Ovviamente ho detto subito di sì senza chiedere spiegazioni.

Così oggi sono entrata in una classe di 28 bambini che mi hanno radiografato e a cui ho spiegato come trasformare una bottiglia da 1/2 lt in un....pinguino.

Era una cosina che mi ero inventata tanti anni fa per Matteo ma me ne ero dimenticata completamente; è stata davvero una sorpresa rivedere un esemplare di quella bottiglia e doverlo rifare.

Inutile dire che mi sono divertita da pazzi e che la nostra tribù è ora pronta per la festa del Papà, momento in cui verranno portati a casa con orgoglio.

Approfitto per salutare una nuova lettrice Sonia Martin che non ha un blog ma a cui dò il benvenuto.

penguins tribe

Today I have done a tribe of penguins!

You have to know that some days ago I've been called by Sister Giannarosa, Matteo's teacher at primary school. She is an exceptional woman, of rare intelligence and abilities and we are all deeply affectionate to her.

To make it short she asked my help for today afternoon for a not better called "work". Obviously I said immediately Yes without asking anything.

So today I got in a classroom filled with 28 kids who scannerized me and to whom I explained how to transform a plastic 1/2 lt bottle in a ....penguin.

It was a small project I did for Matteo many years ago and I had forgotten it completely; it has been a real surprise to see one of them and make it again.

Need less to say that I had lots of fun and now our penguins tribe is ready for Daddy's Day, when they will be proudly taken home.

At the same time I want to welcome a new follower Sonia Martin who has no blog. Welcome Sonia.

brocche e fiocchi

Oggi il tempo è meraviglioso, caldo, soleggiato, davvero primaverile. E io sono bloccata in casa!

Purtroppo Matteo ha la febbre, povero pulcino ( sarà SEMPRE un pulcino per me), è pieno di dolori alle articolazioni e gli fa male la gola.

Ne ho approfittato per fare le brocche smaltate seguendo il tutorial di Marlies e devo dire che sono soddisfatta.

Grazie Marlies, sei stata meravigliosa a donarci il pattern: è davvero prezioso. La prossima volta proverò a fare delle pentole.

Il mio superpapà invece mi ha costruito l'attrezzo per fare i fiocchi seguendo i consigli di Debbie e Casey; lui ha aggiunto una maniglia per rendere più agevole l'uso. La cosa difficile adesso sarà procurarsi il nastro adatto. Dovrò cercare qualcosa di adatto.

pitchers and bows

Today the weather is wonderful, warm, sunny, really spring like. And I am closed at home!

Unfortunately Matteo has got some temperature, poor honeybee ( he will ALWAYS be my honeybee), he has pain at his articulations and a sore throat.

I took the chance for doing the enamelled pitchers and jugs following Marlies' tutorial and I dare say that I'm quite happy with them.

Thank you Marlies, you have been very sweet giving us the pattern: it is really precious. Next time I'll try to do some pans and pots.

My wonderdad in the meanwhile has done the bow maker following Debbie and Casey's counsellings; he has added a handle to make use simpler. The most difficult challenge will be to find out the proper ribbon. I'll have to look for something right.

Il prossimo progetto sarà la "Scatola della sposa".

Una scatola perchè deve essere una room box piccina per la mia collega Marta che sta preparando il suo matrimonio.

Avrà i lati di 20 x 20 x 20 cm e si aprirà su un fianco per permettere di vedere l'interno.

Me la immagino azzurra, di un bel color Tiffany con un enorme fiocco bianco.

Appena avrò tutti i materiali sottomano vi farò vedere tutti i passaggi. A presto.

Next project will be the "Bride box".

A box because it will have to be small for Marta, a colleague of mine who's organizing her own wedding.

It will have the sides of 20 x 20 x 20 cm ( I'm sorry I do not know how many inches it is) and it'll open on a side to peep inside.

I imagine it blu, a nice Tiffany blu with a huge white bow.

As soon as I'll have the materials handy I'll show you step by step. See you soon.

100° POST

Incredibile! questo è il mio 100 post. Se qualcuno mi avesse detto che sarei arrivata a questo numero gli/le avrei detto che era pazzo...
Oggi vi farò vedere per l'ultima volta la Casa Gialla, arredata e finita. Nei prossimi giorni la consegnerò e rimarranno solo le foto a ricordarmela. Mi ha dato soddisfazione anche perchè è un po' più moderna delle cose che faccio di solito, un po' più contemporanea, perciò mi ci sono riconosciuta meglio. Ho lasciato qualche buco qua e là così Simona potrà aggiungere ciò che vuole.
Nel portfolio ci sono riproduzioni di quadri che le piacciono particolarmente, mentre il libro sul comodino "All's fair in love" è un tributo alla sua filosofia di vita.
Solo i vasi da te di Reutter non sono inseriti: sono un regalo per Simo perciò dovrà decidere lei dove posizionarli.
La mela è un richiamo al suo lavoro: una mela per la maestra ;o))
E ora al prossimo progetto: ho un sacco di idee.

100° POST

Unbelievable! this is my 100 post. If somebody would have told me that I'd have arrived at this point, I 'd have told him/her that they were nuts...
Today I'll show you for the last time the Yellow House fully furnished and decorated. In the next days I'll give it away and only pics will remain as a memory. It has been a satisfactory work mostly because is more modern than the things I usually do, more up to date, thus I've recognized myself in it. I've left some empty hole around, in this way Simona will be able to add whatever she likes.
Inside the portfolio there are reprodctions of paintings she likes most, while the book on the bedside table "All's fair in love" is atribute to her life philosohy.
Just the Reutter tea caddies are not in place: they are a present and Simo will know where to place them.
The apple is a hint to her job: an apple for the teacher ;o))
And now to the next project: I've plenty of ideas.

Ieri ho fatto un po' di dolcini per la merenda degli abitanti della casa gialla. Se li paragono a quello che vedo nei blog di Kim, Linda, Stephanie ecc ecc mi viene voglia di impiccarmi alla maniglia del forno! però una volta incollati sulle loro basette "dovrebbero" fare la loro figura..... spero.

Yesterday I've done some sweets for the yellow house lodgers. If I compare them to what I see on Kim, linda, Stehanie etc etc blogs I'd like to hang myself to the oven handle! but, once glued to their bases, they "should" be quite pleseant..... hopefully.

Questa è la cosa più bella che potrete trovare in casa mia.
Mi sembrava la migliore immagine per rappresentare un giorno che dovrebbe essere un doveroso ricordo per donne morte in modo atroce, in un mondo in cui godevano di ben pochi diritti, e che invece è stato mercificato come un nuovo San Valentino.
E' un dipinto del maestro Sandro Beltramo e rappresenta l'incontro tra Maria ed Elisabetta.
Il loro incontro, ripetuto più e più volte, permette di afferrare in parte la profondità dell'animo femminile. L'affetto e la solidarietà che uniscono le due donne si mostrano in tutta la loro forza e nelle loro molteplici sfumature.
Io amo questo quadro che mi suggerisce solo sentimenti di tenerezza, gratitudine e fiducia reciproca.
Tutto questo amore mi commuove profondamente e mi ricorda che è davvero nelle nostre mani la possibilità di migliorare il mondo.
Rendiamo ogni giorno il giorno della Donna.
Riprendiamoci il potere di rendere meravigliosa la nostra ed altrui vita.
Siamo orgogliose di noi stesse, della nostra forza, delle nostre debolezze che ci rendono uniche.
Vi e mi auguro di essere vere donne.

This is the most beautiful thing that it is possible to find in my house.
It seemed to me the best image to represent a day that should be a due omage to the awful death of women who lived in a world where they were granted very few rights, but actually it has been mercified like a new Valentine Day.
It is a painting by maestro Sandro Beltramo and potraits the meeting between Mary and Elisabeth.
Their meeting, so many times repeated, partially allows us to grasp the depth of feminine soul.
The affection and solidariety between them is shown in its full strenght and in its many hues.
I love this painting which suggests me only feeling of tenderness, gratitude and mutual trust.
All this love moves me deeply and reminds me that it is truly in our hands the chance of bettering this world.
Let us make every day the Woman day.
Let us take back the power of making ours and others lives wonderful.
Let us be proud of ourselves, of our strenght, of our weeknesses which make us unique.
I wish you and myself to be real women.
