§ Forse qualcuno si ricorderà che stavo preparando una scatola per una sposa.
Il matrimonio è ancora lontano per cui me la sto prendendo con mooooolto calma.
Marta lo sa e non mi fa fretta.
Ho dovuto ordinare del materiale che ha impiegato mesi ad arrivare, e vi assicuro che non erano cose speciali, e poi mi sono persa nei miei ricami.
Due giorni fa però mi sono decisa e ho finito la sedia che sarà nella scatola.
Il monogramma M & A si nota poco ma dal vero la M di Marta è molto carina.
Spero piaccia anche a lei.
Stanotte probabilmente finirò il vestito da sposa, grazie a Marsha di Sassy Dolls che ci ha donato il tutorial.

Marta's chair

§ May be some of you will remember that I was doing a wedding box.
The wedding day is still far away hence I'm taking it with LOOOT of ease.
Marta knows and she has no hurry.
I had to order some material which took ages to come, and I can promise that it was not extraordinary stuff, and then I got lost in my stitchings.
But two days ago I made up my mind and I finished the chair which will be inside the box.
The monogram M & A is hardly notable but M of Marta is very pretty in true life.
I hope she will also like it.
Tonight I shall most probably finish the wedding gown, thanks to Marsha of Sassy Dolls who presented us with her tutorial.

Come forse vi ricorderete ho cominciato a fare una scatola per un matrimonio.
La scatola non è ancora pronta, in questo periodo ho ricamato tanto, ma ieri pomeriggio ho preparato tre torte per il matrimonio.
Bastava una ma mi divertivo troppo. La torta a pois sarà quella di Marta: è giovane, fresca e graziosa proprio come lei. Le altre... me le terrò io!
Nel contempo ho fatto anche dei Quaresimali, tipici dolci genovesi di pasta di mandorle e zucchero a forma di fiore o losanga. Così detti perchè potevano essere consumati durante la Quaresima; infatti non contenendo burro o uova venivano considerati "di magro".
La golosità umana se le inventa tutte per barare!

wedding cakes

May be you'll remember that I begun doing a bridal box.
The box isn't ready yet, I stiched too much in the last period, but yesterday I prepared three wedding cakes.
One should have been enough but I had too much fun. The polkadot cake will be Marta's: it's young, fresh and pretty as she is. The others.... I'll take for me!
At the same time I did some Quaresimali (Quaresima = Lent) , tipical Genoise sweets made of almonds and sugar in shape of flowers or diamonds. They were said so because they could be eaten during Lent; in fact being made without butter or eggs they were considererd suitable for fasting time.
Human greediness makes up all the excuses to cheat!

Il prossimo progetto sarà la "Scatola della sposa".

Una scatola perchè deve essere una room box piccina per la mia collega Marta che sta preparando il suo matrimonio.

Avrà i lati di 20 x 20 x 20 cm e si aprirà su un fianco per permettere di vedere l'interno.

Me la immagino azzurra, di un bel color Tiffany con un enorme fiocco bianco.

Appena avrò tutti i materiali sottomano vi farò vedere tutti i passaggi. A presto.

Next project will be the "Bride box".

A box because it will have to be small for Marta, a colleague of mine who's organizing her own wedding.

It will have the sides of 20 x 20 x 20 cm ( I'm sorry I do not know how many inches it is) and it'll open on a side to peep inside.

I imagine it blu, a nice Tiffany blu with a huge white bow.
