La casetta di Hansel e Gretel - Hansel and Gretel's little house

§ First of all: this is NOT a miniature.Yesterday it was the Epiphany aka Befana and to celebrate it, inspired by Debbie's little houses, I prepared a gingerbread house.
Its aroma fills the room and represents the fading of Holidays gifting us with a last sweetness.

What a wonderful gingerbread house! O yes a shame to eat it :)

In my former home town, Bergen, there is this tradition of schools and kindergartens delivering a house from each class to an exhibition. They make a copy of the town each year, using all the gingerbread houses, made and decorated by the children!

Hansel and Gretel would have loved the house! But it is much too pretty for a witch!
As we do every year, we made one too (the kids always do the fun bits like decorating after I do the hard jobs like sticking the house together! ), and YES, it does make the house smell absolutely wonderful!
Will you eat yours?
Ours normally goes to the bin... The recipe I use is not the same as for gingerbread men, it is 'tough' and supposed to keep the house up.

To LIze: we could eat it, it's very thin and crunchy. Most times we are so sorry of ruining it that it gets stale on the shelf :o))

To Synnove: thank you for the link. I'll go and have a look.

Non so se è telepatia, ma per la festa di compleanno di Irene che farò domenica ho intenzione di fare una casetta fatta di dolci... forse più che telepatia è una mania!!!!

O, that gingerbread house made me smile. So many M&Ms and fattening! haha. I will leave mine on the shelf too if I can make one so pretty! But how can one resist pinching some to eat. Soon, it will be a house with holes!
