sono felice - I'm happy

§ Tutte le cose belle finiscono....

e purtroppo oggi pomeriggio ho accompagnato Susan, Margaret e Fay alla stazione per prendere il treno che li porterà a Venezia.

E' stata un'esperienza MERAVIGLIOSA. Susan e i suoi amici sono adorabili, gentili , cordiali, intelligenti ed è stato davvero un piacere ospitarli.

Ci hanno viziato spudoratamente con un sacco di regali.

La stoffa meravigliosa sullo sfondo è un sari da matrimonio e poi dolci,le famose torte di ananas, biscotti di tapioca e di nocciole.E ancora spezie, una maglia dalla Tailandia, il libro di Angie Scarr e depliants su Singapore.

Ops... ho dimenticato il caffè... ci hanno portato del favoloso caffè Malese e un pomelo. Ero così entusiasta che l'abbiamo tagliato, e mangiato, prima di fotografarlo.

alas this afternoon I went with Susan, Margaret and Fay to the train station where they got on the rain which will take them to Venice.

It has been a MARVELLOUS experience. Susan and her friends are adorable, kind, warm, clever and it has been a great great pleasure to have them as guests.

They have wildly spoilt with presents.

The wonderful fabric on the background is a wedding sari and the sweets, the famous pineapple tarts, Tapioca and hazelnuts biscuits. And more over spices, a shirt from Thailand, Angie Scarr's book and Singapore brochures.

Ops.... I forgot the coffee.... they brought us a wonderful Malaise coffee and a pomelo. I was so enthusiast about it that we cut, and ate it, before taking a pic.

§ Stamattina abbiamo fatto colazione con pasta al pesto, torta pasqualina e tè. Molto leggera ;o)

§ This morning we had breakfast with pasta al pesto, artichokes pie and tea. Very light ;o)

§ Sfortunatamente faceva un po' freddino come potete capire dall'abbigliamento.

§ A pranzo ci siamo incontrati con Roberta. Mannaggia, non ho fatto una foto ! e abbiamo girato per i vicoli.

I must say that I already miss them.

§ Beh, ormai Sans l'ha annunciato al mondo perciò posso dirvelo anch'io: Sans sta arrivando a casa mia !!!!

E' questo il motivo per cui Walter ed io ci siamo messi a ridere quando il suo nome è stato estratto per il blog candy. Sembrava fatto apposta per risparmiare sulle spese postali !

Questi sono i pacchetti che Sans troverà ad aspettarla.

Posso mostrarveli perchè in questo momento sta volando verso un'Italia che purtroppo troverà fredda e piovosa.

Mi auguro che la nostra ospitalità basti a riscaldarla.

§ Ho chiesto a Sans se potevo mostrare il suo regalo per il blog candy. Non volevo rovinarle la sorpresa ma lei mi ha detto che non era un problema.

Negli anni 30 un lavoratore del Porto costruì, con i legni pregiati dei velieri che venivano smantellati per fare posto ai grandi vapori, un gazebo a forma di nave.

La sua casa era in Cheullia, la collina che collega Carignano al mare.

Purtroppo fu distrutto dai bombardamenti durante la II Guerra Mondiale.

Io amo gli swap - I love swaps

§ Come ho scritto nel post precedente io amo gli swap.

Mi piace ricamare, l'unica mini cosa che mi riesce davvero bene, e adoro il lavoro di tanti talentuosi amici.

Qualche mese fa ho scritto a Josje di A Beautiful World per chiederle se

poteva vendermi il kit per delle sue meravigliose seggioline e lei gentilmente mi ha proposto un baratto i

n cambio di un cuscino per la sua camera da letto..

Per non sbagliare colori le ho chiesto dei campioni dei tessuti e delle tappezzerie e quando sono arrivati sono rimasta abbagliata dalla loro delicatezza.

Non potevo assolutamente farne uno solo e mi sono ispirata a tutti e tre.

Per tanti motivi i tempi si sono allungati ma la settimana scorsa io sono diventata la felicissima proprietaria di una incredibile seggiolina e di un meraviglioso acquarello .

Josje ha ricevuto i cuscinetti e mi ha reso orgogliosa postandoli nella sua meravigliosa casa.

§ As I wrote in the previous post I love swaps.
I enjoy stitching, the only mini thing in which I feel proficient, and I adore the work of many talented people.

Some months ago I asked Josje of A Beautiful World to ask her if she could sell me the kit for one of her chairs and she most kindly proposed a swap of it for a pillow for her bedroom.

I asked her samples of the fabrics and wallpapers not to be mistaken about colours and when they arrived I was taken by their delicacy.

I could not possibly make only one and all three inspired me.

For many reasons time went by but the last week I've become the very happy owner of an incredible little chair and of a wonderful watercolour.

Josje received her little pillows ans she made me most proud by doing a post about them in her beautiful home.

Thank you again and again Josje.

§ Alcuni di voi mi hanno chiesto se vendo i miei ricami.

Ebbene sì, se me ne fanno richiesta li vendo .

Infatti il fatto di venderli è un'ottima scusa per poter continuare a ricamare senza annegarci dentro.

E' stato molto difficile decidere il prezzo per i miei lavoretti. Dopo molte elucubrazioni, e dopo essermi consultata con altr

e miniaturiste, ho preso la decisione di farmi pagare ad ore.

Purtroppo i miei lavorini sono luuuunghi da fare, alcuni mortalmente lunghi.

Ho ritenuto che € 5.00 l'ora potesse essere una tariffa giusta.

Il tempo medio per un copriteiera va dalle 8 alla 12 ore, tutto dipende dal materiale del fondo e dal numero dei colori

necessari.Per il Faro sono stati necessari 14 cambi di colore e 12 ore di lavoro.

Quando qualcuno mi fa una richiesta specifica cerco di ricamare almeno due opzioni dello stesso soggetto per poter permettere la scelta. Comunque ogni lavoro è un pezzo unico e gli schemi sono disegnati da me o adattati alle miniature partendo da ricami in scala reale.

Non metto mai in conto il materiale o la spedizione a meno che qualcuno non voglia una Raccomandata.

Spero di essere stata utile a chi mi ha chiesto informazioni.

Comunque il mio migliore guadagno sono sempre gli SWAP !!!

PS mi rendo conto adesso che questo post può sembrare poco carino nei confronti di chi ha ricevuto uno dei miei oggettini. Voglio dire che io adoro ricamarli e non c'è niente che ami di più che scambiarli con persone amiche.

§ Some of you asked me if I sell my stitchings.

Well, yes, I do sell them.

Actually selling them is a very good excuse to keep on stitching without drowing into them.

It has been very hard to decide the price for my little works. I asked other miniaturists for counselling and I decided to be paid by hours of work.

Alas my wee works are veeeery long to do, some of them deadly long.

I thought that € 5.00 per hour could be fair.

The average time for a teacosy is between 8 and 12 hours, everything depends of the background fabric and by the number of colours involved. The Lighthouse took me 12 hours and 14 different shades of threads.

When someone asks for a customized order I try to stitch at least two different options of the same subject to give the choice. Anyway each piece is OOAK and the patterns are either disegned by me or adapted to mini world by real scale ones.

I never charge the raw material or Mail expenses unless someone wants it registered.

I hope I have been useful to those who asked me.

Anyway my best bargain are always SWAPS !!!

PS I realize now that this post might seem unnice to those who received my objects. I just want to say that I love doing them and there is nothing that I love more than swapping them with friends.

Curry di pollo - Chicken Curry

Ho usato le spezie di Sans, la sua ricetta e ho preparato il Curry di Pollo. Insieme ho preparato del riso pilaf al forno.

Una bella bottiglia di vino e.... mamma mia, che buono !

Ieri era la Befana e per festeggiarla, ispirata dalle casette di Debbie, ho preparato una casetta di pampepato.

Il profumo riempe la stanza e rappresenta l'ultimo scampolo di Festa regalandoci un'ultima dolcezza.
§ First of all: this is NOT a miniature.Yesterday it was the Epiphany aka Befana and to celebrate it, inspired by Debbie's little houses, I prepared a gingerbread house.

E' passato una settimana dal mio ultimo post ma purtroppo ho avuto un paio di impegni improrogabili: il lavoro e un dannato virus che mi ha colpito proprio la notte di Capodanno.

Vi basti sapere che oggi ho consumato il primo pasto dal 31 Dicembre...

Comunque mi sono accorta che non avevo mai postato le foto del mio regalo a Kathi.

Quando ho lanciato lo swap Kathi aveva appena finito il caminetto nella sua casa sulla spiaggia e sapendo che ha tre figli è stato facile pensare a tre calzine da appendere al camino.

Ovviamente non sono verdi o rosse :o))
One week has gone since I wrote my last post but, alas, I had some undelayble committements: my job and a nasty bug which stroke me the very night of 31 December.

It will be sufficient to say that I had my first food today since then...

Anyway i realized that I had never posted my gift to Kathi.

When I launched the swap Kathi was completing the mantlepiece in her beach cottage and knowing that she has three children it has been easy to think of three Christmas socks.

Obviously they are neither green nor red :o))
