materasso - mattress

§ Oggi ho fatto un materasso e ho deciso di farne un tutorial.

A me ha insegnato una cara Signora di San Francisco che mi mandò le istruzioni via email.

Per molte sarà una ripetizione ma forse sarà utile a qualcuno.

§ Today I have done a mattress and I decided to make a tutorial.

I was tought by a lovely Lady by San Francisco who sent me the instructions by email.

For many of you it will be repetitive but may be it will be useful to some of you.

§ Questo è il materiale: feltro bianco, spugna dell'altezza preferita, stoffa di cotone e naturalmente il modello del vostro materasso.

§ This is the material: white felt, foam of your needed height, cotton fabric and of course the template of your mattress.
§ Tagliate la spugna e due pezzi di feltro come da modello e formate un sandwich incollandoli insieme e tagliate la stoffa . Dovete fare una striscia lunga come il perimetro del materasso , alto come il "sandwich" con in più i bordi per la cucitura.

§ Cut the foam and two pieces of felt like your template and make a sandwich gluing them together. Cut the fabric. You have to do a strip as long as the mattress perimeter, as high as the "sandwich" plus the hemming borders.
§ Questo è il nostro "panino". Scusate la foto sfuocata.

§ This is our "sandwich". I'm sorry for the blurred pic.
§ Cucite la fodera unendo la parte inferiore e superiore al bordo. Lasciate un lato libero.

§ Sew the case joining the upper and lower part to the border.Leave an unsewn border.
§ Farcite la fodera con il panino di spugna e feltro. Cucite il lato libero.

§ Fill the case with the foam and felt sandwich. Sew the free border.
§ E questo è il materasso finito. Di solito aggiungo dei punti nodi fatti con due fili per simulare i bottoni dei veri materassi ma questa volta non mi servivano.

§ And this is the finished mattres. I usually add some French knots done with two threads to imitate the buttons of real mattresses but this time I did not need it.

§ Tra un paio di giorni vedrete dove andrà il mio materassino che ha le misure di un letto da bambini. A presto.

§ In a couple of days you'll see where my mattress , which is sized for a children bed,will go.
