§ Questo sarà il mio ultimo lavoro prima della partenza.

Non è per me ma mi è stato richiesto da una cara persona.

Per ottenere un effetto "vissuto" ho usato filo di lino; infatti il lino ha colori più smorti ed è meno regolare. Normalmente per il retro utilizzo stoffa a quadretti in colori coordinati ma questa volta non mi sembravano adatti. Così è nato il tralcio di rose.

Voglio farne ancora uno, con un diverso schema così che possa scegliere quello che le piace di più ma temo che sarà per metà Settembre. Per fortuna mi ha detto di non avere fretta.

vintage teacozy

§ This one will be my last work before leaving.

It's not for me but it has been requested by a dear person.

For a "shabby" look I used linen thread; actually linen has duller colours and it is far less regular.Usually I have gingham matching fabric for the back but this time it did not look suitable. Thus the rose trelly was born.

I want to do another one, with a different pattern thus she will be able to chose what she likes best but I fear it will be for Mid September. Luckily enough she told me that she was not in a hurry.

VACANZE !!!!!

Finalmene ci siamo !!!

Stasera alle 19.30 siamo usciti dal negozio e NON dobbiamo rientrare fino al 16 Settembre.

una nuova amica

§ Qualche tempo fa una misteriosa ragazza Italiana, che conoscevo solo via email, mi ha chiesto un copriteiera.

La richiesta era precisa: dovevano esserci un vaso di miele, delle api e un bordo a quadretti gialli.

Richiesta inusuale ma ho fatto del mio meglio per accontentarla.

§ Some times ago a misterious Italian girl, whom I knew only via email, asked me a teacozy.

Her request was very precise: there have to be a honey pot, some bees and a yellow gingham border on it.

Unusual request but I have done my best to please her.
§ Però, poichè non ero sicura che le potesse piacere, ne ho fatto un altro: una variazione sul tema, affinchè potesse scegliere quello che preferiva.

§ But, since I was not sure of what could become her, I did another one: a variation on theme, so she could choose the one she liked best.§ Ed ecco i due piccolini vicini ad una scatola di te per darvi un'idea delle dimensioni.

§ Ma la cosa migliore è che oggi la ragazza, non più misteriosa, è venuta a trovarmi con il marito.

Sotto un sole cocente ( 41°!!!) mi hanno aspettato all'uscita del lavoro e abbiamo pranzato e fatto un mini tour di Genova.

Sono persone assolutamente deliziose e sono davvero felice di averle conosciute. E' stata una pausa pranzo davvero piacevole.

A proposito...ha scelto quello con il barattolo :o))

§ The best thing is that the , no more misterious, girl has come to meet me with her hubby.

Under a blazing sun (41°!!!) they have waited for me at the end of midday work and we had lunch and a mini tour of Genoa.

They are absolutely delightful persons and I'm very happy I met them. It has been a special lunch break.

BTW...she chose the one with the honey pot :o))

passeggiata di Nervi

§ Ultimamente lavoro a tempo pieno, sto fuori casa fino a 12 ore al giorno e nel tempo "libero" stiro, cucino ecc ecc ecc....

In realtà sto anche ricamando come una pazza: una lettrice verrà a Genova tra 2 giorni per incontrarmi e prendere il suo copriteiera ed un'altra sta aspettando...

Giuro che sto facendo del mio meglio, scusate il ritardo !

Però ogni tanto mi concedo una passeggiata.

Queste foto le abbiamo scattate domenica scorsa, alle 6 di pomeriggio, prima era davvero troppo caldo per uscire.

Nervi seaside walk

§ Lately I' working at full time basis. I stay out of my home up to 12 hours a day and in the "spare" time I have to iron, cook etc etc etc....

I am also stitching like crazy: a follower will come to Genoa within 2 days to meet me and collect her teacozy and another one is waiting...

I promise that I doing my best, excuse the delay !

But from time to time I concede myself a walk.

These pics have been shot last sunday, at 6 pm, before that it was really too hot to go out.

Ho perso solo la prima e mi dispiace ancora adesso.

E' la più grande, ehm ehm..., l'unica fiera di miniature in Italia ma vale davvero la pena andarci.

il premio della Lotteria

§ Finalmente Jill ha ricevuto il suo premio quindi lo posso mostrare a tutti voi.

Oltre al copriteiera, Jill ha scelto quello con le ciliegie, le avevo promesso un cuscino personalizzato e lei mi aveva chiesto un "nido e un uccellino azzurro". Io ho fatto del mio meglio per accontentarla.

All'inizio ero un po' perplessa per il soggetto che era nuovo per me ma alla fine ero soddisfatta.

Nella foto sembra enorme ma in realtà è un po' meno di 4 cm.

§ At last Jill has received her prize hence I can show it to everybody.

A part from the teacozy, Jill chose the one with cherries, I promised to do a customized pillow and she asked me a "nest and a blue bird". I have done my best to make her happy.

At the beginning I was a bit puzzled by the subject which was new for me but at the end I was quite satisfied.

In the pic it looks huge but it is less than 4 cms in reality.

un cuscino per Sabiha

§ Questo è il mio ultimo cuscino. E' stato fatto per Sabiha, che è stata così gentile da costruire una scaletta per la mia cucina.

Purtroppo non posso ancora mostrarvela perchè la Posta la tiene in ostaggio ma non perdo le speranze.

Sab è stata così carina da postarlo sul suo blog Sab Mini Interiors, tra poco vi farò vedere quello che sto facendo per la mia panca.

§ This is my last pillow. I has been done for Sabiha, who has been so kind to build a ladder for my kitchen.

Unfortunately I cannot show it to you because Mail Service has kidnapped it but I do not give up hope.

§ Forse qualcuno si ricorderà che stavo preparando una scatola per una sposa.
Il matrimonio è ancora lontano per cui me la sto prendendo con mooooolto calma.
Marta lo sa e non mi fa fretta.
Ho dovuto ordinare del materiale che ha impiegato mesi ad arrivare, e vi assicuro che non erano cose speciali, e poi mi sono persa nei miei ricami.
Due giorni fa però mi sono decisa e ho finito la sedia che sarà nella scatola.
Il monogramma M & A si nota poco ma dal vero la M di Marta è molto carina.
Spero piaccia anche a lei.
Stanotte probabilmente finirò il vestito da sposa, grazie a Marsha di Sassy Dolls che ci ha donato il tutorial.

Marta's chair

§ May be some of you will remember that I was doing a wedding box.
The wedding day is still far away hence I'm taking it with LOOOT of ease.
Marta knows and she has no hurry.
I had to order some material which took ages to come, and I can promise that it was not extraordinary stuff, and then I got lost in my stitchings.
But two days ago I made up my mind and I finished the chair which will be inside the box.
The monogram M & A is hardly notable but M of Marta is very pretty in true life.
I hope she will also like it.
Tonight I shall most probably finish the wedding gown, thanks to Marsha of Sassy Dolls who presented us with her tutorial.

§ Dear friends, tonight I needed to relax a bit and doing this little bags is really easy.

Try with me.

§ Questo è il materiale di cui avete bisogno: treccia di paglia, un pezzetto di stoffa di cotone, cordini per i manici, una forma di balsa a vostro piacimento. Questa l'ho fatta io ma potete anche usare tappi di ogni genere o tipo.

§ These are the materials you'll need: straw braid, a scrap of cotton fabric, cords for the handles, a balsa piece of your liking. This one I did myself but you can also use caps of any kind or material.
§ Fasciate strettamente il modello con la pellicola da cucina.

§ Tightly wrap your model with kitchen film.
§ Cospargetelo di colla vinilica e fasciatelo con la stoffa. Mi raccomando il dritto va a contatto con la pellicola perchè sarà la parte visibile dentro la borsina.

Incollate anche i manici.

§ Smear it with white glue and wrap it with the fabric. One warning, the right side must be in contact with the film cause it will be visible inside the bag.

Also glue the handles.
§ Quando sarà asciutta cominciate a fasciarlo con la treccia, non dovete accavallarla troppo, ogni giro dovete fissarlo con la colla.

§ When it will be dry, start wrapping it with the straw braid, you do not have to overlap too much, each run must be fixedwith some glue.
§ Arrivate fino in cima alla stoffa e fate asciugare bene. Questa è la colla che uso io,quando asciuga è trasparente e leggermente elastica.

§ Wrap till the top of fabric and let it dry thoroughly. This is the glue that I use. It dries clear and slightly elastic.

§ A questo punto siete pronte per andare al mare o a fare la spesa. Buon divertimento :o))

§ Now you are ready to go to the beach or to the local market. Have fun ! :o))

§ I have finished to stitch pillows and cozies and I was not sure if I wanted to take a break or to go on working.

§Dopo tre giorni finalmente ho il tempo di raccontarvi come è andata la gita con Eva e famiglia.

Tutto benissimo !

Davy, il marito di Eva è andato con Walter a giocare a golf. Noi, ossia Eva, Laura la sua adorabile bambina, i suoi genitori e suo fratello, Matteo ed io, siamo entrati all'Acquario e ne siamo usciti solo dopo 4 ore.

Dopo un rapido pranzo ci siamo riuniti e abbiamo gironzolato per il centro Storico. Purtroppo il Lunedì è giorno di chiusura per i musei e tanti negozi ma abbiamo fatto del nostro meglio.

La sera eravamo stravolti ma per quanto mi riguarda molto contenti.

Sono felice di aver incontrato un'amica di blog che si è rivelata una persona deliziosa.

excursion in Genoa

§After three days I have the time to tell you about the excursion with Eva and family.

Davy, Eva's hubby went with Walter to play golf. Eva, her lovely daughter Laura, her parents, her brothe, matteo and I, got in the Acquario and we got out after 4 hours.

After a quick lunch we gathered and we strolled around the Historical Centre. Unfortunately Monday is closure time for the Museums and most shops but we managed to do our best all the same.

At evening we were exhausted but, as for me, quite happy.

I'm very happy I had the chance of meeting a blog friend who has risolved to be a delighful person.

We both have wished a gathering with all of you: wouldn't it be gorgeous?

Non scrivo da TANTISSIMI giorni ma non so come mai non ho trovo il tempo di fare niente.

Non lavoro di più e la casa non più pulita del solito ma l'unica csa che riesco a fare è ricamare il cuscino per Jill.

In questo grigiore risplende una novità: Lunedì incontrerò Eva del blog Evilla Prunella e la sua famiglia e li scorterò per Genova.

Il programma è già fissato, per prima cosa l'Acquario, il più grande d'Europa, e poi tour passando dalla Genova medievale a quella rinascimentale fino all'800.

Walter mi ha già raccomandato di non stancarli troppo altrimenti potrei perdere un'amicizia.

Farò del mio meglio ;o))

PS la costruzione grigia lunga lunga nella foto è l'Acquario. Ve l'avevo detto che è grande!

I have neglected writing for MANY MANY days but I cannot find time for anything and I wonder why.

I'm not working more and the house is not cleaner than usual but the only thing I manage to do is to go on wih Jill's pillow ( .....it is nearly finished Jill).

In all this greyness a piece of news shines up: on Monday I shall meet Eva of blog Evilla Prunella and her family and I shall take them around Genoa.

The program is alread fixed, first thing the Acquario, the largest in Europe, and then a tour through Medieval, Renaissance and 1800 Genoa.

Walter reccomends me not to overtire them otherwise I could loose a friendship.

I'll do my best ;o))

PS the loooooong grey building in the pic is the actual Acquario. I told you it is big!
