San Teodoro

§ Tra 20 giorni sarò in ferie !!!!
Quest'anno ho aspettato fino all'ultimo momento per andare in ferie e non me ne rammarico.
Luglio ed Agosto a Genova sono bellissimi, il mare è magnifico, blu zaffiro e verde smeraldo, i pesci affollano le acque dove vado a nuotare il più possibile.
La città è più tranquilla ma non svuotata ed i ritmi possono rallentare un pochino... non troppo , solo un po', ma quel tanto che ti premette di godere del sole e della brezza.
Ciò nonostante sono felice che anche per me stiano per arrivare due settimane di dolce far niente.
Quest'anno per la prima volta in vita mia ( roba da vergognarsi) calcherò il suolo sardo: andrò a San Teodoro vicino ad Olbia.

§ I shall be on holiday in 20 days !!!!
This year I waited to the very last minute to go on holiday and I don't regret it.
July and August in Genoa are wonderful, the sea is sapphire blue and emerald green, schools of fishes pack the waters where I go swimming any time I can.
The city is calmer but not empty and life rhythms can slow down a bit ....not too much, just a little, but it's enough to enjoy the sun and the breeze.
None the less I am happy that two weeks of easy going life are arriving for me too.
This year, for the first time in my life (shame on me) I'll step on the Sardinian soil: I'll go to San Teodoro close to Olbia.

Volterra

§ Due giorni, due soli giorni ma sufficienti per fare una scappata in una delle più belle regioni d'Italia, la Toscana ! e per la precisione la Val di Cecina.

§ Two days, only two days but enough for a mini holiday in one of the most beautiful regions of Italy: Tuscany! and precisely Val di Cecina.

§  L'idea era visitare Volterra che non vedevo da almeno 30 anni e che si è rivelata ancora più bella di quanto ricordassi.

§  Stamattina è stata la volta di Monteriggioni: cosa vi posso dire di questa minuscola porzione di perfezione ? ... che non ho parole per descrivere l'emozione di vederla stagliata contro il cielo come una corona sulla collina!
Non per nulla anche Dante Alighieri la citò nella Divina Commedia

§ This morning we were in Monteriggioni: what shall I say of this minuscule portion of perfection? .... that I am wordless when it comes to describe the emotion of seeing it standing out against the sky like a crown on the hill !

§ Siamo anche riusciti a visitare Colle Val D'Elsa, un altro gioiello medievale e rinascimentale

                                                    IL PALAGETTO

§ Ma  tutto questo è stato reso ancora più memorabile dall'aver alloggiato in un meraviglioso agri hotel, Il Palagetto che consiglio vivamente a tutti.

È locato in un angolo di paradiso, ogni finestra, ogni arco incornicia una vista meravigliosa.

Le stanze sono indipendenti e bellissime - almeno la nostra lo era ;o) .

La proprietaria ed i coadiutori sono gentilissimi ed il ristorante si è rivelato all'altezza del panorama.

§ But all this has been made even more memorable by lodging in a wonderful agri hotel, Il Palagetto which I strongly recommend to everybody.

It is situated in a heavenly corner of countryside, each window, each arch framing a marvellous sight. The rooms are independent and beautiful - at least our was ;o).

The owner and her assistants are overly kind and the restaurant was at the same level of the landscape.

 Finalmente le ferie !      At last holidays !!!!

Domani mattina partiremo con un volo Air Fance da Genova e raggiungeremo Parigi

Tomorrow we shall fly from Genoa with an Air France plane and we'll reach Paris

Dovremo aspettare tre ore e mezza all'aereoporto Charles de Gaulle ... poco male ;o)

We'll have to wait three hours and a half at Charles de Gaulle airport ... not too bad ;o)

 Da lì un volo diretto, quasi 13 ore - arghhhh,  ci porterà a Singapore    (^_^)

A direct flight , nearly 13 hours - arghhhh, will take us to Singapore  (^_^)

Soprattutto ci porterà da cari amici in una città che ho imparato ad amare.
Per la prima volta mio figlio verrà con me e questo rende tutto più prezioso

Most important it will take us to dear friends in a city which I learned to love.
For the first time my son will come with me and this makes everything more special

Cosa ho fatto quest'Estate ?

Mi sono divertita !!! e senza andare veramente in ferie :o) restando quasi sempre a casa e andando a lavorare tutti i giorni

What have I done this Summer ?

I had fun !!! even without really going on holiday  :o) staying nearly all the time in town and going to work on daily bases

 Ho fatto il mio primo, e ultimo!, saggio di Danza Orientale .... decisamente non fa per me :o(
I joined my first, and last!, performance of Oriental Dance ..... definitely it doesn't become me  :o(

 Ho esplorato la mia città in battello di notte  -  I explored my own city by boat at night

 Sono stata una settimana in Trentino: BELLISSIMO !!!
I went one week in Trentino: FABULOUS !!!

 Sono andata a nuotare in mare vicino a casa tutte le volte che ho potuto, tantissime !

 Mi sono divertita con gli amici

I had fun with friends

E poi ho preso la bicicletta, e ho fatto una gita sul lago Maggiore  in un fine settimana

Then I took my bike and I went to the Lago Maggiore during a week end

Ieri sono perfino riuscita ad andare all'Expo di Milano

Yesterday I even managed to go to the Expo in Milan

Cosa posso aggiungere ?

Ho avuto una bella Estate piena di eventi, di amici, di amore e di bellezza.

Niente mini ma si sa, l'inverno è lungo ;o)

What shall I say more ?

I had a lovely Summer filled with events, Friends, love and beauty.

No minis but you know, winter is long ;o)

Ma qualcosa ancora mi aspetta .... le mie ferie cominceranno il 18 Settembre con un lunghissimo viaggio aereo

Dove andrò ? provate ad indovinare 

But wait, something is still ahead of me .... my holidays will begin on September 18th with a very long flight

Eccomi qui, sono di nuovo a casa   :o))

Appena arrivata dopo 6 ore di volo  (^_^)

Nonostante l'ingombrante presenza della Trichinella sono partita e appena arrivata a destinazione stavo già mooooooooooolto meglio

Despite the cumbersome presence of the Trichinella I left home and as soon as I was at my destination I felt waaaaaay better

 Meta del viaggio ? Dubai e una breve crociera negli Emirati Arabi ed in Oman

E' stato un viaggio interessante, piacevole, rilassante, divertente e stimolante, non avrei potuto chiedere di più o di meglio

It's been an interesting, pleseant, relaxing, fun and sstimulating trip, I couldn't ask for more or better

Vedere dal vivo tutte queste incredibili architetture dopo averne letto o averle viste in televisione dà un effetto stranissimo, tra il dejà vu e l'incredulità

Looking at these incredible architectures after having read about them or having watched them on tv gives a weird feeling, half way between deja vu and incredulity

Oggi abbiamo cominciato il 2015 con una bella passeggiata da Sori a Sant'Apollinare

Il tempo era SPLENDIDO !!

 We begun 2015 with a lovely trek from Sori to Sant'Apollinare
The weather was TERRIFIC !!

 Il mare era blu cobalto, il verde smeraldino, l'aria era piena dei cinguetti dei passerotti e dei profumi della campagna

The sea was cobalt blue, the gree was emerald, the air was filled with the tweet of sparrows and of the scents of the countryside

 Stradine acciottolate conducono in mezzo agli uliveti

Cobbled paths lead in the middle of olive groves

 E ci siamo arrampicati .....

And we climbed ......

 Ma alla fine siamo ritornati al mare per un picnic :o)

But at last we went back to the seashore for a picnic :o)

Non potevo sognare un inizio migliore

I couldn't dream of a better starting of the year

Sicilia

Sono tornata stanotte dalla Sicilia dove ho trascorso 2 settimane, una delle quali in catamarano nell'arcipelago delle Egadi.

Niente da dire se non .... ANDATECI !! e tornerete innamorate !

I came back tonight from Sicily where I spent 2 weeks, one of which sailing with a catamaran among the Egadi islands.

Nothing to say but ...... GO THERE !!!!! and you'll come back in love with it !
