ATTILA !!!

§ Qualche giorno fa vi ho mostrato i miei acquisti a Miniaturitalia.

Tra questi c'era Attila !

§ Some days ago I have shown you my buyings at Miniaturitalia.

Among them there was Attila !

§ Attila è uno gnomo famoso ! Appartiene alla grande famiglia Kartell !

§ Attila is a famous gnome ! He belongs to the great Kartell's family !

§ Angela ha saputo replicarlo alla perfezione e appena l'ha mostrato su FB le ho chiesto di conservare quello bianco per me che lo avrei ritirato a Miniaturitalia.

La mia scelta di averlo bianco nasceva dal fatto che volevo dipingerlo per replicare l'originale il più fedelmente possibile.

§ Angela has been able to perfectly duplicate it and, as soon as she presented it on FB, I asked her to keep the white one aside for me and I would have picked it up at Miniaturitalia.

My choice of white was due to my wish to replicate the original the more faithfully that I could

 § Eravamo un po' titubanti sulle modalità necessarie per dipingerlo ma ho deciso di provare e ho usato gli acrilici.
§ We were a bit doubtful on how I could have painted it but I made up my mind and used acrylic colours.

§ Ecco il risultato, due mani di colore e MOLTE mani di smalto dopo.
Io ne sono soddisfatta e sicuramente porterà allegria alla casetta

§ And here it is, after two coats of paint and MANY coats of gloss.
I am satisfied by it and it will certainly bring merriment to the little house

Eri piccola, piccola .... così !

§  Perché piccolo, ma davvero piccolo, così piccolo che non potete neppure immaginarlo, è questo innaffiatoio opera di Ketty Pierro.

§ Because small, but truly small, so small that you cannot even imagine it, it is this watercan made by Ketty Pierro.

§  Un innaffiatoio ricolmo di fiori campestri, boccioli poveri ma delicati

Lucky bamboo

§  Il Bambù della fortuna è una pianta diventata di moda negli ultimi anni, si trova ovunque ed è facile da coltivare.

In realtà non è un bambù bensì una pianta della famiglia delle Agavaceae ma non voglio farvi una lezione di Botanica .... anche perché non ne sarei capace ;o)

§ The Lucky Bamboo is a plant which became fashionable in the last years, you can find it anywhere and it's easy to grow.

Truly it is not a bamboo but it's a plant of the Agavaceae family but I am not here for a botanical lesson .... mainly because I couldn't do it ;o)

 

§ Il mio bambù è fortunato perché se ha trovato un vaso accogliente e bellissimo è grazie ad un'amica speciale.
Questa adorabile ciotola è un dono di Norma ed è opera di Margaret Crosswell  una miniaturista Australiana che purtroppo non vende online ma di cui posseggo alcuni pezzi grazie alla generosità di un'altra amica, Linda.

§ My bamboo is a lucky one because if it found a comfy and beautiful vase it is thanks to a special friend.
This adorable bowl is a gift from Norma and it's work of Margaret Crosswell an Australian miniaturist who, alas, doesn't sell online but I am the, again, lucky owner of a few pieces thanks to the generosity of another friend, Linda.

§ Il mese scorso sono stata a Parigi per il SIMP e sono stata così fortunata da incontrare Norma Bennet dall'Australia.
Siamo state in contatto tramite i nostri blog per 10 anni, forse una delle prime persone che ho conosciuto,nella blog sfera, ed è stato meraviglioso incontrarci di persona! Purtroppo nessuna delle due ha pensato a fare una foto !
Ci siamo incontrate all 8,30 al suo hotel, siamo andate a fare la coda insieme al SIMP e dopo la fiera ci siamo di nuovo incontrate per cena in un bistrot.
Cose che succedono solo a Blogland !!!

§ Last month I was in Paris for SIMP and I have been so lucky to meet Norma Bennet from Australia.
We have been in touch through our blogs for the last 10 years, one of the first people I met in blogland, and it was wonderful to meet in real life !
Alas none of us thought of taking a pic of the two of us !
We met at 8,30 am at her hotel and went to SIMP to queue together and after the fair we met again for dinner in a bistrot.
Something which happens only in Blogland !!!

Una rosa - A rose

§ Purtroppo miniaturizzo sempre meno ma continuo a collezionare :o)

§ Unfortunately I mini make less and less but I keep collecting :o)

§  Questo pezzo adorabile è opera di Marlies come penso molti di voi avrà capito solo vedendolo.
Il lavoro di Marlies è talmente preciso e di squisita fattura che non si può confondere con quello di nessun'altro.

§  This adorable piece is work of Marlies as many of you must have understood by simply looking at it.
Marlies' work is so precise and of such exquisite workmanship that it is unmistakable to that of any other.

§  Davanti e retro sono perfetti ed io sono andata in delirio per i microscopici gancetti delle bretelline.

§ Front and rear are perfect and I went wild for the micro hooks on the straps.

§ Questo è un dettaglio della splendida rosa che adorna il corpetto.
Giuro che vorrei avere qualcosa di altrettanto femminile e carino nella vita vera !

§ Here is a detail of the wonderful rose which graces the bustier.
I swear that I would want something as feminine and pretty in my real life as well.

Fiori - Flowers

§ Due post in due giorni ma non pensate che diventi un'abitudine .....

§ I kits sono davvero ben fatti, si montano che è un piacere e necessitano di minimo lavoro di scartavetratura: veri gioiellini !

§ The kits are truly well done, they build up very easily and they need of very little sanding: real tiny jewels !

Miniaturare è bello ma la vita all'aria aperta ancora di più !!!

§ I am not sure when I'll pick up the needle again even though the ideas are so MANY.
I'll do it only when I'll be certain of having fun and I won't feel obliged as it happened after 2011 KDF.
Minimaking is great but open air life even more !!!

Trip to memory lane

§ Oggi sono andata a trovare la mia cara amica Sabrina e casualmente si è parlato della room box che avevo fatto per Simona, sua sorella gemella.

§ Today I went on visit at my dearest friend Sabrina's home and casually we talked of the room box which I made for her twin sister Simona.

§ È un progetto originale basato sulle richieste di Simona dove ho fatto davvero tutto e assomiglia moltissimo alla sua stanza preferita

La differenza è data dalle finestre che nella realtà non esistono mentre qui si affacciano sul piccolo e bellissimo golfo di Paraggi

§ It is an original project based on Simona's wishes and I made everything and it resembles a lot her favourite room

The difference is given by the windows which don't exist in reality while here they overlook the small and beautiful gulf of Paraggi

§ Sul soppalco c'è un angolino comodo per rilassarsi e leggere

§ On the mezzanine there is a comfy corner to relax and read

§ Al piano inferiore tutto il necessario per lavorare e ricevere le amiche

§ At the lower floor there is everything you need to work and welcome friends

§ Non manca nulla di ciò che può rendere la vita piacevole ....

§ There is all you need to make life pleasant ....

.... e produttiva

.... and productive

§ Mentre si legge una bella tazza di té è quello che ci vuole !

§ While you read a nice cup of tea it is what you need ! 

§ Il tavolo riprende il decoro del pavimento "vero" di Simona; le scritte " Conosci te stesso" ed "Afferra il giorno" erano i suoi motti, la sua filosofia di vita.

§ The table shows a decor from her "real life" floor; the captions " Conosci te stesso" aka "Know yourselves" and "Afferra il giorno" aka "Grab the day" were her mottoes, her philosophy of life.

§ Chi segue questo blog da tempo conosce queste foto, nessuna novità, ma un viaggio sul sentiero dei ricordi ogni tanto fa bene all'anima.

§ Sono di ritorno da una settimana di ferie in Istria, un posto affascinante che si meriterà un post a parte, e rimettendo le mani sul pc mi è punta vaghezza di condividere un nuovo lavoro.

§ I am back from a week of vacation in Istria, a charming place which will deserve a post on its own, and placing back my hands on the pc I wished to share a new work.

§ Il lettino viene da Singapore, tutto il resto ovviamente è farina del mio sacco  (^_^)

§ The little bed comes from Singapore, all the rest is obviously my own work  (^_^)

§ Ho riscoperto il piacere di cucire e ricamare in miniatura che pensavo di aver perso

§ I found again the pleasure of sewing and stitching in miniature which I thought I had lost

§ Mio figlio adora i gatti grossi grassi e rossi così due gattoni sono diventati cuscini anche se in realtà erano nati come .... copri teiera !

§ My son adores big fat red cats hence two tomcats turned in two cushions even though they were born to be a .... tea cosy !

§ Lo schema è di Janet Granger ma quando ho finito di ricamarli mi sembravano decisamente enormi , fuori scala per come vedo io un copri teiera, per cui sono stati adattati a cuscini

§ The pattern is by Janet Granger but when I finished them they looked definitively enormous, out of scale for how I think of a tea cosy, therefore they have been adapted as cushions

§ Questo invece è ispirato, incredibile ma vero, ad un maglione di Chanel visto su una pubblicità lo scorso inverno.
Incredibile da dove può nascere il mini mojo ;o)

§ While this one, incredible but true, it's been inspired by a Chanel knitted jumper which I saw on an ad last winter.
Incredible where mini mojo can come from ;o)

Buona Pasqua - Happy Easter

§ Sì, sono in anticipo, lo so!

Ma non potevo più aspettare per farvi vedere i lavori di  Ketty Pierro

§ I know, it's too soon !
But I couldn't wait any more to show off with Ketty Pierro's works

§ Queste meraviglie le avevo ammirate a Milano ma, per il solito motivo...pochi soldini con me ;o), non ho potuto comprarli

§ I admired these wonders in Milan but, for the usual reason, little money left ;o), I didn't buy them.

§ Appena tornata a Genova però ho cercato Ketty su FB e le ho chiesto se potevo comprare i suoi lavori on line

§ As soon as I came back to Genoa I looked for Ketty on FB and asked her if I might buy her works on line

§ Mi ha detto di sì  ((^_^))

§ She said yes  ((^_^))

§ E così i germogli nelle uova sono arrivati da me  :o))))
§ Thus the sprouts inside the eggshells arrived to me  :o))))

§ Every side of the teeny houses is different from the other

§ E' una splendida decorazione per Pasqua

§ It's a stunning decoration for Easter

§ E i dettagli sono meravigliosi !!
