sono un po' presa..... - I'm a bit busy.....

Soprattutto mi scuso con tutti i nuovi lettori, 348 su questo blog e 177 per la Casa Rossa, che non ho salutato personalmente.

Alcuni non hanno blog di riferimento ma il vero motivo che non ho proprio il tempo materiale.

Dal mio ritorno dalle ferie la vita 1:1 mi ha fagocitata, troppo da fare sul lavoro e anche sul piano familiare.

In più, dal momento che sono masochista!, ho tre nuovi progetti in corso d'opera !

100° POST

Incredibile! questo è il mio 100 post. Se qualcuno mi avesse detto che sarei arrivata a questo numero gli/le avrei detto che era pazzo...
Oggi vi farò vedere per l'ultima volta la Casa Gialla, arredata e finita. Nei prossimi giorni la consegnerò e rimarranno solo le foto a ricordarmela. Mi ha dato soddisfazione anche perchè è un po' più moderna delle cose che faccio di solito, un po' più contemporanea, perciò mi ci sono riconosciuta meglio. Ho lasciato qualche buco qua e là così Simona potrà aggiungere ciò che vuole.
Nel portfolio ci sono riproduzioni di quadri che le piacciono particolarmente, mentre il libro sul comodino "All's fair in love" è un tributo alla sua filosofia di vita.
Solo i vasi da te di Reutter non sono inseriti: sono un regalo per Simo perciò dovrà decidere lei dove posizionarli.
La mela è un richiamo al suo lavoro: una mela per la maestra ;o))
E ora al prossimo progetto: ho un sacco di idee.

100° POST

Unbelievable! this is my 100 post. If somebody would have told me that I'd have arrived at this point, I 'd have told him/her that they were nuts...
Today I'll show you for the last time the Yellow House fully furnished and decorated. In the next days I'll give it away and only pics will remain as a memory. It has been a satisfactory work mostly because is more modern than the things I usually do, more up to date, thus I've recognized myself in it. I've left some empty hole around, in this way Simona will be able to add whatever she likes.
Inside the portfolio there are reprodctions of paintings she likes most, while the book on the bedside table "All's fair in love" is atribute to her life philosohy.
Just the Reutter tea caddies are not in place: they are a present and Simo will know where to place them.
The apple is a hint to her job: an apple for the teacher ;o))
And now to the next project: I've plenty of ideas.

dolcini

Ieri ho fatto un po' di dolcini per la merenda degli abitanti della casa gialla. Se li paragono a quello che vedo nei blog di Kim, Linda, Stephanie ecc ecc mi viene voglia di impiccarmi alla maniglia del forno! però una volta incollati sulle loro basette "dovrebbero" fare la loro figura..... spero.
Approfitto per salutare una nuova lettrice, Mayte di http://maytesapena.blogspot.com/, fa delle bambole incredibili, più vere del vero. Andate a salutare.

sweets

Yesterday I've done some sweets for the yellow house lodgers. If I compare them to what I see on Kim, linda, Stehanie etc etc blogs I'd like to hang myself to the oven handle! but, once glued to their bases, they "should" be quite pleseant..... hopefully.
I'll take the chance to welcome a new follower, Mayte of http://maytesapena.blogspot.com/, she makes the most incredible dolls, truer than true. Go and say hi.

Vi farò vedere la casa gialla con la libreria e lo scaffale. Quasi quasi ci siamo, mancano i dolci per il te, un poster di Butch Cassidy e qualche accessorio ma l'aspetto finale non dovrebbe cambiare. La prossima settimana la porterò a Simona e speriamo che le piaccia. Lei vuole la sorpresa, per questo non è neanche mai entrata nel blog. Incrocio le dita...

may be it's done

I'm showing you the yellow house with the library and the bookcase. It is nearly done, still missing the sweets for the afternoon tea, A Butch Cassidy poster and some accessories but the overall aspect should not change. Next week I'll bring it to Simona and I hope she will like it. She wants a surprise, this is why she has never come to the blog. Cross fingers...

tavolo da te

Finalmente ho finito di personalizzare il tavolino per la casa gialla.

E' molto personale e riguarda strettamente la sua futura padrona. La scritta sul tavolo, ripetuta a spirale come un mantra, dice: afferra il giorno (carpe diem) e conosci te stesso. Questi sono i motti di Simona mentre i pesciolini...beh, lei sa cosa significano.

At last I finished to customize the tea table for the yellow house.

It is very personal and strictly related to its going to be owner. The writing on it, repeated in spiral like a mantra, says: grab the day (carpe diem) and know yourselves. These are Simona's mottoes while the little fishes... well, she knows.

libri

Ho paura che stia degenerando in una mania: se non scrivo per qualche tempo non posso fare a meno di sentirmi leggermente in colpa. Forse sto diventando una blogaholic!

Vedere il lavoro di tutte queste persone collegate in rete mi fa venire voglia di creare e costruire e, soprattutto, di non rimanere indietro.

Ieri, anche se non ho scritto , ho prodotto: ho finito il set di libri per la casa gialla a cui manca solo la libreria e qualche accessorio per definirsi completa.

I kit sono quelli di Paper Minis, sono fatti benissimo, così ben spiegati e congegnati che è impossibile farli male. Ti fanno sentire molto in gamba!

I'm afraid it is degenerating in a mania: if I don't write for a while I cannot avoid feeling slightly guilty. May be I'm becoming a blogaholic!

Looking at the work of so many people linked in the web makes me eager of creating and making up and, moreover, not staying behind.

Yesterday, even though I didn't write anything, I've produced: I have completed the set of books for the yellow house to which only a library lacks to be considered finished. And some accessories as well...

The kits are those of Paper Minis, they are beautifully done. They are so well explained and conceived that it is impossible to make them badly. They make you feel very clever!

grembiule

Ieri ho fatto la brava massaia. Ho dato una pulita, ho cucinato e ho fatto l'orlo ai pantaloni di Walter.
Questo è un lavoro che francamente non mi piace fare! Le nostre uniformi sono fatte con una tela dura che è difficile da cucire a mano se, come me, non si è capaci di farlo a macchina. Comunque l'ho fatto e , dal momento che mi avanzava un po' di stoffa, dopo mi sono divertita a cucire il grembiule da pittrice di Simona. La stoffa era sempre dura ma volete mettere la differenza? cucire una cosa così piccina è MOLTO più divertente. E' venuto carino anche se dovrò sporcarlo un po' di colori, adesso è decisamente troppo nuovo.
Allo stesso tempo ho mordenzato e verniciato il manichino e la seggiolina per la scrivania. Dopotutto giocare è un sacrosanto diritto. O no ?!

apron
Yesterday I have been a good housewife. I have done some cleaning up, I cokked and I hemmed Walter's trousers. This is a work which I utterly dislike! our uniforms are made up with a hard cotton fabric which is difficult to handsew if, like me, you are not able to use a sewing machine. Anyway I did it and, since I had some left over, afterwards I had fun sewing Simona's paintress apron. The fabric was still hard but do you see the difference? sewing such a small thing is much MORE fun. It has turned out pretty even though I'll have to dirty it a bit with colours, now it is definitely too smart.
At the same time I stained the mannequin and the little chair for the working table.
After all playing is a sacred right. Or not?!

libri e quaderni

Oggi ho lavorato per la casa gialla: è quasi finita, devo terminare il tavolino per il tè e devo riempirla. Questa è la parte divertente! Nel pomeriggio ho costruito libri e quaderni con i bellissimi kit di Paper Minis: ognuno di loro ha pagine vere e vere fotografie!

Un libro è un campionario di cappelli per signora, la nonna di Simona era una modista e mi sembrava bello ricordarla così. L'altro è una raccolta di nature morte dal 1600 ai giorni nostri; spero che Simona le apprezzi. Lei non sa niente dei miei lavori.

Le alzatine sono costruite con gli ornamenti che ho comprato a MIT, uno per uno non sembrano granchè ma lavorandoci un pochino acquistano un senso. Penso che le riempirò di dolcini per la merenda.

books and notebooks

Today I have worked for the yellow house: it's nearly finished, I need to finish the tea table and I have to decorate it. This is the fun part! In the afternoon I've done books and notebooks with Paper Minis wonderful kits: each one of them has true pages and true pictures.

One book is a ladies hat sampler, Simona's grandmother was a milliner and it seemed nice to me to remember her in this way. The other one is a collection of still lives from 1600 up to our days; I hope Simona will appreciate them. She knows nothing about my progress.

The cakes stands are built with the odds and ends I bought at MIT, they don't look much but working with them they get some sense. I suppose I shall fill them with sweets for the afternoon tea.

A Miniaturitalia ho comprato il manichino, il tavolo e le sedie per l'angolo del te che dovrà essere personalizzato con un piano in finto mosaico, una seggiolina per il tavolo da lavoro, la cassetta per il cucito e un meraviglioso servizio da te di ceramica finissima fatto in Francia da una signora di straordinario talento, Elisabeth Causeret che, ahime, non ha un sito internet.
Ho poi ordinato la libreria e lo scaffale che arriveranno a giorni.

News for the yellow house.
At Miniaturitalia I bought the mannequin, the table, and the chairs for the tea corner which will customized with a faux mosaic, a little chair for the working table, a sewing box and a marvellous tea service made of the finest china by a French lady of extraordinary talent, Elisabeth Causeret, who, alas, has not an internet address.
At the end I ordered a library and a shelf wich will arrive in a few days.

scala

Oggi ho finito la scala per la casa gialla e ho fatto la lavagna di sughero per gli appunti.

Fare la scala è stato più difficile di quanto pensassi, non veniva mai dritta. Adesso non è una meraviglia ma non è neppure troppo male.

La parte difficile della tavola invece sono stati gli spilli per fissare i foglietti. Pensavo che il sughero fosse più morbido e invece... mi sono bucata le dita per piantarli.

Ieri ho lavorato TUTTO il giorno al sedile della seggiolina. Non vi dico niente per non rovinare la sorpresa ma fidatevi che sta venendo una bellezza ;-)

ladder

Today I have finished the ladde for the yellow house and I did the cork board for the notes.

Making the ladder it has been more difficult than I thought, it never came out straight. Now it has not a wonder but it is not that bad.

While the most difficult part of the board have been the pins to pin the notes. I thought that cork was softer and instead... I have pinched my fingers to plant them.

Yesterday I worked ALL day at the seat of my chair. I shall not tell anything not to spoil the surprise but trust me that it is becoming a beauty ;-)

portfolio

Che cosa buffa! ieri Fluffy Bricks ha pubblicato un portfolio e contemporaneamente io ne stavo costruendo uno per la ragazza che vivrà nella casa gialla. Simona ama la pittura e allora ho pensato di metterle a dispozione un po' di materiale.
Il portfolio non è lussuoso come quello di Fluffy bricks, è rilegato in tela di cotone ma non credo che Simo se ne avrà a male. E' una ragazza alla mano.

Funny thing yesterday! Fluffy Bricks posted a portfolio and at the same time I was doing one for the girl who will live in the yellow house. Simona loves picture and I thought to give her some materials.
The portfolio is not a luxury as the one of Fluffy Bricks, it is bound in cotton fabric but I don't think that Simo would mind. She is a simple girl.

casa gialla

Negli ultimi due giorni ho lavorato alla casa gialla; ho montato i parquet, li ho lucidati e verniciati. Poi ho dipinto i montanti del piano superiore e li ho fissati. Ho anche già costruito la scala ma devo ancora verniciarla perciò ve la mostrerò un'altra volta.
Adesso devo decidere come arredarla. Ho già tutto in mente ma mi manca un'idea per l'angolo del te: si accettano consigli.

During the last two days I've worked at the yellow house: I've done the floors, polished and vernished them.
Then I've painted the timbers of the upstairs room and I've fixed them. I've already done the ladder but I still have to paint it therefore I'll show it next time.
Now I've to decide how to furnish it. I've already have it in mind but I need an idea for the tea corner: suggestions are very much welcomed.

Anno Nuovo, lavoro vecchio.

angolo morbido

Eccomi qui, fresca e riposata dopo due giorni passati in Costa Azzurra con Walter.
Ogni tanto è bello fare i fidanzatini, mi sentivo un po' Bridget Jones durante la sua mini vacanza.
Appena tornata a casa però ho cominciato a cucire i cuscini per l'angolino di Simona (coin in francese). Non sono tutti coordinati, devono apparire come se si fossero accumulati nel tempo.
Mi auguro che lo trovi confortevole...

cosy corner
Here I am, refreshed after two days spent in the French Riviera with Walter.
From time to time is nice to act like lovers, I felt a bit like Bridget Jones during her mini break.
Anyway as soon as I was back home I began sewing the cushions for Simona's corner ( coin in French). They are not matchy matchy, they must look as if they had clustered in a long time.
I wish she shall find it confy...

materasso

Sono riuscita a fare il materasso!! sono troppo contenta!
Questo andrà sul soppalco insieme ad un bel po' di cuscini che vedrete nei prossimi giorni.
Devo ringraziare Margaret Lew per avermi mandato il file con le istruzioni per farlo con tanto di foto e disegni.

I've done the mattress!! I'm overjoyed!This will go on the top room along with a lot of cushions wich you'll see soon.
I have to thank Margaret Lew who sent me the file with the instructions to do it with pictures and drawings.

finestre

Nonostante un mega raffreddore che mi ha bloccato in casa tutto il giorno e mi ha impedito di partecipare al raduno mensile delle miniaturiste, sono riuscita a finire la quarta finestra per la casa gialla.

Nell'insieme sono carine, hanno quell'aria un po' trasandata che voglio dare a tutta la stanza.

Deve sembrare una vecchia casa di vacanze dove da 30 anni non si cambia nulla ma proprio per questo è così accogliente.

Speriamo di riuscirci.

Even though I had a bitter cold which has kept me at home all the afternoon and has prevented me from going to monthly meeting with my fellow miniaturists, I managed to finish the fourth window of the yellow house.

In general they are pretty, they have that shabby look that I want to give to the whole room.

It must look like an old holiday house where nothing has been changed in the last 30 years but just for this reason is so cosy.

I hope I can catch it.

Today I received the pictures for the landscape for the yellow house.
Simona will enjoy of a magnificent view, the Paraggi Gulf ( which is near Portofino) in a wonderful sunny day.

la casina gialla

In un delirio di onnipotenza proseguo a scrivere ( avverto che sono grafomane) per raccontarvi la gestazione della prossima casetta. Una cara, carissima amica mi ha chiesto di costruirle una casetta. Mi ha detto: "deve avere un soppalco ed essere abitata da una persona che ama il te, i libri e la pittura". Cara Simona come ti assomiglia! E così sta nascendo una casina gialla come il sole perchè deve essere una casina felice, con un cuore traboccante di felicità, di canzoni e di sogni. Per ora è agli inizi ma vi terrò aggiornati su come procedono i lavori.
