God save the Queen

§ Va bene mi chiederete voi, ma che c'azzecca la Regina con un blog di miniature/viaggi/ecc ?
C'entra eccome se siete anglofili e soprattutto se avete un figlio ventenne che nutre la massima ammirazione e rispetto per questa anziana Signora.
Rispetto che si spinge fino a fargli dire che vorrebbe la Regina Elisabetta come Imperatrice d'Europa con Frau Merkel come Primo Ministro.
Come vedete non ho cresciuto un figlio maschilista e vi dirò che con il panorama politico Italiano attuale non posso neppure dargli troppo torto .....

§ It's fine you'll tell me, but what's the reason of the Queen presence in a minis/travels/etc blog ?
Be certain that it relates if you were anglophiles and more over if you have a twenty years old son who greatly admires and respects this elderly Lady.
Respect which goes as far as making him say that he would have Queen Elisabeth as Emperess of Europe with Frau Merkel as Prime Minister.
As you can see I didn't bring up a male chauvinist and, to be truthful, with the actual politic situation in Italy I cannot even blame him too much .....

§ Tutto ciò per giustificare che essendo bloccata a letto con i polmoni fischiettanti, la tosse e una tenacissima febbricola ho avuto un po' di tempo per ricamare  ((^_^))  cosa che non facevo da tanto tanto tempo.
Nessun progetto grandioso anzi una cosina piccola piccola e facile facile per decorare la mini camera di M nella mini casa.

§ All this to justify that being bed ridden with hissing lungs, a cough and a resilient fever I had some time for stitching  ((^_^))  and I hadn't been doing it for the longest time.
Not an impressive project, all the contrary, a teeny tiny, easy peasy thing to decorate M's room in the mini house.

§ E dal momento che in casa c'è anche una bambina ho fatto anche la versione "rosa"

§ Since in the house there is also a little girl I made a girly version too

Finalmente !!!! la macchina fotografica FUNZIONA !!! - At last !!!! my camera WORKS !!!

§ Dopo mesi di coma la mia macchina fotografica è tornata in funzione !!!

Non ci credevo più e mi ero ormai rassegnata all'acquisto di una nuova.

Non averla mi ha anche bloccata sul blog perchè cos'è un blog senza foto, belle o brutte che siano ?

§ After some months of coma my camera has come back to life !!!

I didn't believe this possible any more and I was resigned on buying a new one.

Not having a camera also stopped my blogging because what's a blog without pics, nice or nasty as they can be ?

§  La prima cosa che vi mostrerò è la amatissima Bubble Chair che è destinata alla camera di Mini Matteo

§ Avrete notato che i cuscini sono davvero troppo rigidi allora mi sono messa in caccia di un tessuto che per colore e consistenza potesse adattarsi.
Ho trovato delle toppe di Alcantara per maglioni ! Fantastiche, morbide e vellutate e dell'esatta tonalità di rosso.
Costosucce ahimè ma le volevo !

 § You may have noticed that the cushiond were really too stiff hence I begun hunting for a fabric which might be good in colour and texture.
I found Alcantara patches for jumpers ! fabulous, soft and velvety and of the exact hue of red.
Alas, pretty expensive but I wanted them !

§  Ho fatto una dima e ho tagliato...con un po' di timore ;o)

§ PS il cuscino è ricamato su garza di seta , l disegno è mio e  l'ho fatto l'anno scorso proprio per LEI :o))

§ PS the cushion is stitched on silk gauze, the pattern is mine and I made it last year just for IT :o))

Mezeri e ricamo - Mezeri and stitching

Ieri sera gironzolavo su Goggle incapace di dormire ed ho trovato una nuova immagine di Ricamatrice.

E' stato dipinto da un pittore Tedesco Franz Xaver Simm vissuto  alla fine  del XIX secolo.

La cosa che più mi affascina è il mezero con l'albero della vita sullo sfondo .

Questo quadro è stato dipinto probabilmente in Germania o Austria ma quanto si adatta anche alla mia terra.

Questo è il motivo per cui ho deciso che sarà appeso nella mia Casa Rossa , potrei fare finta che sia una mia antenata ;o))

Yesterday night I surfed on Goggle unable to get some sleep and I found a new image of a Stitcher.

It has been painted by a German artist Franz Xaver Simm who lived at the end of XIX century.

What  really fascinates me is the mezero with the tree of life on the background.

This painting has been probably produced in Germany or Austria but it is so becoming to my own country.

This is why it will be hung in my Casa Rossa , I can always pretend that she is an ancestor of mine ;o))

Tanti di voi mi hanno chiesto dove metterò i bellissimi dolci fatti da Kim.

Bel problema: non ho una casa per loro e non ho voglia di fare una room box.

Il mio progetto è quello di costruire una casa partendo da zero e so già perfettamente quale voglio costruire.

Quella che vedete è un'abitazione a 200 m da casa mia, ha circa 120 anni ma se li porta bene.
Il particolare che preferisco sono le decorazioni tromp d'oeil, tutto ciò che vedete, a parte i balconi, è dipinto. Potete cliccare sulla foto per vedere meglio i particolari.
Questo era un mezzo economico per avere case apparentemente ricche ed è un modo di pensare tipicamente Genovese.
Sono stata anche molto fortunata perchè sono riuscita a trovare la planimetria degli interni così, in teoria, potrei riprodurla esattamente. Non sarà così perchè diventerebbe enorme e in casa mia proprio non c'è spazio. Vorrà dire che l'adatterò un pochino.

Many of you have asked me where I'll place the beautiful sweets that Kim made for me.
Nice problem: I have not a house for them and I do not want to make a room box.
My project is to build a new house from scratch and I perfectly know what I'm going to build.
You are looking at a house which is 200 mt from my home, it has nearly 120 years but they become it.
The detail I like best are the tromp d'oeil decorations, everything you see, a part from balconies, is painted. You can click on the pic to see details .
This was a thrifty way to have richly decorated houses and it is tipycal of Genoese way of thinking.
I have also been very lucky to find the actual map of the interiors, theoretically I could reproduce it exactly. It will not be so because it would become enormous and I really have no place in my home.I shall have to adapt it a bit.
