un regalo - a present

§ Ieri ho ricevuto un regalo.

Un regalo importante da una persona cara, la mia Nonna.

Mi ha donato un pezzetto della sua storia e di quella di sua suocera, la mia bisnonna a cui apparteneva questo ritratto.

Mi ha donato un sogno di bambina perchè quando lo ammiravo incantata sognavo che fosse appartenuto ad una principessa e mai più pensavo di poterlo tenere in mano.

Mi sono commossa ieri aprendo il sacchetto in cui era contenuto e ancora una volta mi sono chiesta: " Ma tu, chi sei?"

Strano vero che due amiche abbiano ricevuto un ritratto lo stesso giorno..... mi sembra una magia.

§ Yesterday I received a gift.

An important gift from a dear person, my Granny.

She presented me with a bit of her history and her mother in law's too, my Greatgrandmother to whom this portrait belonged..

She presented me with a child dream because, when I admired it, charmed by its grace, I dreamt it belonged to a princess and I should have never thought of holding it in my hands.

I was touched yesterday opening the little bag which beheld it and once more I asked myself : " Who are you ?".

Funny you see ,that two friends received a portrait on the same day.... sounds magic to me.

finalmente VACANZA !!!! - at last HOLIDAYS !!!!!!

Finalmente ci siamo !

Dopo un intero anno si avvicinano le ferie !

Sabato sarà l'ultimo giorno di lavoro e non arriverà un secondo troppo presto !

Sono sfinita !

E soprattutto non vedo l'ora di partire per un viaggio che prevedo MITICO !

Infatti andremo a Singapore, a Bali ed infine in Malesia .

Sans ed io ne stiamo parlando dall'inizio dell'anno, prima ancora che lei venisse a Genova e ora non sto più nella pelle.

Non vedo l'ora di riabbracciare Sans ed i suoi amici, di conoscere la sua famiglia ed il suo incredibile mondo.

Cercherò di restare in contatto con la blogsfera ma se non ce la facessi..... perdonatemi ;o)

At last they are here !

After a whole year holidays are approaching !

Next Sat will be my last working day and it will not arrive one second sooner than needed.

I'm worn out !

And most of all I cannot look forward this trip which I forsee as MYTHICAL!

Actually we'll go to Singapore, Bali and then Malaisya.

Sans and I are talking about it since New Year, even before her coming to Genoa and now I cannot wait anymore.

I look forward hugging Sans and her friends, meeting her family and her incredible country.

I'll try to keep in touch with blogsphere but if I cannot....forgive me ;o))

§ Qualche tempo fa ho mandato a Norma una scatola per il cucito.

§ Some time ago I sent to Norma a sewing box.

§ Norma molto carinamente si offrì di mandarmi un regalo e come potevo rifiutare ?

Così un giorno mi scrisse per sapere se mi piaceva il tartan...

Il tartan ?! beh, io ho un rapporto speciale con la stoffa scozzese, la amo in Scozia ma altrove.... un giorno vi scriverò un post speciale ;o)

A Norma però ho raccontato tutto e lei ha compreso (^_^) le mie idee ed ecco cosa mi è arrivato ieri con la posta: una valigia bella e pronta per un nuovo viaggio in una terra che amo profondamente e che mi ha riservato momenti speciali.

One day she wrote me if I liked tartan ....

Tartan ?! well, I have a special relationship with the Scottish fabric I love it in Scotland but elsewhere..... some day I'll write a special post about this ;o)

But I told everything to Norma and she understood (^_^) and here is what I received yesterday with my mail: a lovely luggage filled and ready for a ne trip in a country I deeply love and which has reserved special moments to me.

§ Stasera Walter mi ha invitata a cena in un posticino romantico vicinissimo a casa nostra.

Il nostro tavolo era a pochi metri dal mare, il cielo era blu cobalto e la luna brillava trasformando il mare in un tappeto di brillanti.

Cosa chiedere di più ?
§ Tonight Walter has taken me out for dinner in a romantic little place very close to our home.

Our table was a few metres from the sea, the sky was cobalt blue and the moon shined changing the sea surface into a diamonds carpet.

What could you ask more ?

E' impossibile rendersi conto di quanto sia bello in fotografia, si deve vedere dal vivo.

It's impossible to realize how beautiful it is in a pic, you would see it in real.Trust me: it's really incredible.

§E poi ho comprato dei kit di Pascale Garnier un po' di cosine luccicose da Bindels Ornaments.

Vi mostrerò in seguito cosa ne farò, abbiate pazienza.

§Then I bought some kits by Pascale Garnier and some shiny bits at Bindels Ornaments.

Sono stata virtualmente legata al tavolo TUTTO il tempo e non sono riuscita a scattarne neppure una.

PARIGI

Siamo a casa !!!!

Stanche ma felici.

Abbiamo passato due giorni meravigliosi e ,anche se ora siamo un po' sbattute, ne è valsa la pena.

Ci siamo godute ogni singolo istante (^_^)

Siamo arrivate sabato mattina alle 8.30 dopo aver trascorso la notte in treno ma subito dopo aver lasciato i bagagli in albergo siamo scappate a gironzolare per la città.

Era "freddino" (per minimizzare) ma ci siamo scaldate correndo di qua e di là.

We are at home !!!!

Tired but happy.

We spent two gorgeous days and, even though now we are a bit proved, it has been worth of it.

We enjoied every single minute (^_^)

We arrived Saturday morning at 8.30 am after a night spent in train but as soon as we left the luggage at the hotel we went out to stroll around the city.

It was a "bit cold" ( to say the least) but we warmed up running every where.

I had fun recreating the setting made by Sylvia with the T-cozy which I sent her last year.

Ma Sylvia è una fotografa decisamente migliore !

30 Maggio

§ Qualche anno fa, circa 20 anni fa, la mia mamma andò in Ungheria.

Era un paese già visitato ed amato ed era curiosa di vederlo dopo la caduta del Muro.

Tornò entusiasta di tutto ciò che aveva visto e dei cambiamenti che si potevano intuire.

Nei suoi racconti brillava un ricordo: si era recata in una galleria d'arte dove esponeva un'artista Ungherese che lavorava la terracotta.

Lì aveva ammirato una piccola statua rappresentante una madre ed una figlia.

La peculiarità risiedeva nell'età di entrambe; la figlia era anziana ed era difficile riconoscere l'una dall'altra.

Non ho mai dimenticato il suo racconto perchè la sua emozione mi aveva profondamente colpito.

La mia mamma non ha mai visto invecchiare la sua ed io non ho potuto invecchiare con la mia.

Non abbiamo potuto guardarci allo specchio insieme e sorridere alle reciproche rughe che ci avrebbero rese ancor più simili.

Dedico un abbraccio ed un saluto alla mia mamma e a tutte le amiche che, come me, non hanno potuto invecchiare con una persona tanto amata.

§ Some years ago, nearly 20 years, my mum went to Hungary.

It was an already visited country and a loved one and she was curious of seeing it after the Wall fall.

She came back enthusiast of everything she saw and of the changes which could be foreseen.

In her memories something was shining; she went into an art gallery where a Hungarian artist was exposing her terracotta works.

She had admired a small statue featuring a mother and a daughter.

The peculiarity stood in the age of both; the daughter was aged and it was difficult to tell one from the other.

I never forgot her tale because her emotion struck me deeply.

My mum never saw her mum aging and I could not age with mine.

We could not get old together and smile at each other's wrinkles which would have made us even more similar.

I dedicate a hug and a goodbye to my Mum and to all the friends who, like me, could not age with a so much loved person.

preparativi - preparations

§C'e un angioletto vicino a me che mi aiuta ogni qualvolta ne abbia bisogno.
Io le propongo le mie idee, più o meno strampalate, e lei mi ascolta con serietà, mai che si sia messa a ridere, e traduce le mie richieste in immagini.
Io sono negata nell'uso del computer mentre lei sembra avere una bacchetta magica.
Stamattina sono nati i biglietti da visita per il Simp.
Solo per la scelta del carattere abbiamo impiegato mezz'ora buona, mentre del topino ero certissima; ha gli occhiali proprio come me.
Grazie mille Sabrina, sei sempre un tesoro.

§There is a little angel beside me who helps me whenever I need it.
I advance my ideas, more or less cockeyed, and she listens to me seriously, it never occured that she laughed at me, and trasforms my ideas in images.
I am a total failure when it comes to pc while she looks like having a magic wand.
This morning cards for Simp were born.
It took us a good half a hour simply to choose the font, while I was certain of the little mouse; he wears glasses as I do.
Thank you very much Sabrina, you are always a darling.

strizza da Simp - Simp fright

§ Ormai il Simp è alle porte e, mannaggia a me, comincio ad agitarmi.

Non ci sarebbe assolutamente il motivo; in fondo posso considerarlo come la possibilità di trascorrere due giorni di vacanza con una cara amica.

Ma tant'è....

In più ho un grosso complesso di inferiorità.

I miei lavori, al momento sono 48 pezzi, stanno in una tasca !!!!

Una espositrice di lungo corso ha cercato di rassicurarmi dicendo che non è importante la quantità bensì la qualità.

Bel discorso, ma se poi non piacciono ? Ho dedicato ore e ore di lavoro a questi mini cosi e vorrei che strappassero un sorriso.

§ Simp is already at the door and, darn me, I begin to worry about it.

There wouldn't absolutely be reason for it ; after all I can always consider it as the chance of spending a couple days of holiday with a dear friend.

But anyway.....

More over I have an huge inferiority complex.

My works, at the moment there are 48 of them, can be kept in one pocket !!!

A long term expositor tried to cheer me up saying that quality is important, not quantity.

Nice speech, but what if nobody likes them ? I devoted hours and hours of work to these mini thingies and I'd like them to bring up a smile.
§ In più c'è un altro problema: il tavolo.

Non è enorme, 85x85 cm, ma paragonato ai miei copriteiera è il deserto del Sahara.

Da questo nasce la necessità di riempirlo.

Così ieri notte ho costruito uno stand. E' pieghevole, di cartone e carta riciclata ( Mercedes, non ho comprato niente, avevo tutto in casa ^ _^) per poterlo mettere in un trolley.

§ And then there is another problem: the table.

It isn't huge, 85x85 cm, but compared to my T-cozies it's the Sahara desert.

Hence the necessity of filling it.

Yesterday night I built up a stand. It's foldable, made in cardboard and recicled paper ( Mercedes, I did not buy anything, I had everything at home ^_^) to place it in the trolley.
§ Sopra ci saranno il mio lettino rosa, con i nuovi cuscini ricamati e la meravigliosa panca di Sylvia che mi ha ispirato due cuscini che adoro e che mi hanno tenuta impegnata per un totale di circa 23 ore, arghhh!

§ On top of it will be my little pink bed, with its new stitched pillows, and the wonderful bench by Sylvia which inspired me two pillows which I love and which have kept me busy for nearly 23 hours, arghhh!
§ Ne costruirò un altro, più basso, su cui troverà posto un tavolo con le sue seggioline.

I'll build a new one, lower in size, on which a table with its chairs will take place.

Questo mi ha stancata un po' più di quanto non mi piaccia ammettere e ha fatto sì che mi distaccassi dal blog e dalla blogsfera.
