Questa è Rio Maggiore, una delle Cinque Terre. Se mai vi capitasse di venire in Liguria non perdetevele: sono una delle meraviglia della Natura e del lavoro dell'Uomo.

Tutorial per i tubetti di tempere - Paint tubes tutorial

§ Come si fanno i tubetti di tempere ?
E '  facile , molto facile .
§ How can you do paint tubes ?
It's easy , very easy.

§ Per prima cosa avrete bisogno di :
- 2 cesoie, 1 grande ed 1 piccola a becco piatto.
- 1 tubo di alluminio da 3 mm di diametro
- etichette adesive
- pennarelli
- perline o  cilindretti di Fimo.
§ You'll need :
- 2 shears , 1 bigger and 1 smaller with a flat cut
- 1 alluminium tube 3 mm diameter
-  self adhesive labels
- felt pens
- beads, Fimo cilinders

§  Cominciate a tagliare il tubetto con la pinza grande facendo piccoli movimenti rotatori.
Non vogliamo solo tagliarlo, vogliamo anche dargli forma.
§ Cut the tube with the bigger shear with smal rotatory motions.
We don't want only to cut it,we want to shape it as well.

§Questo è quello che otterrete.

§ This is what you will get.

§ Separate il pezzetto e non fate caso alle mie unghie :(

§ Separate the bit and don't look at my nails :o(

§ Ora con la pinza piatta tagliatelo della misura desiderata , io di solito li faccio lunghi 9 mm.
§ Now  cut it of the desired length with the flat shear, I usual keep them 9 mm long.

§ Ecco il vostro tubetto ma gli manca ancora qualcosa.

§ Here is your tube but it still lacks of something.

§ Con la parte dentellata della pinza schiacciate il fondo per avere l'effetto della chiusura.

§ Squeeze it at the bottom with the serrated part of your tong , you'll have the closure.

§ Tagliate striscioline di carta adesiva e coloratele come volete.

§ Cut thin stripes of adhesive paper and colour them as you wish.

 § Arrotolatelo attorno al tubino

§ Roll it around the tube.

§  Incollate una perlina od una fettina di Fimo cotto.
Io di solito uso la plastica termorestringente ma non trovo più i miei tappi di riserva :o/
§ Glue a bead or a small Fimo slice.
I normaly use shrinkable plastic ( the type you cook in oven )  but now I cannot find my spare caps :o/

§ Fatene quanti ne volete , costruite una bella scatolina e divertitevi :o)))

§ Do as many as you want , build up a nice box and have fun :o)))

Destinazione CORK

Ok, ci siamo.

Il momento tanto atteso è arrivato.

Matteo è partito oggi per Cork dove la sua nuova "famiglia" lo sta aspettando e dove resterà per 5 lunghi mesi.

Sono felicissima per lui che è partito rilassato e tranquillo come se si stesse recando al cinema ma sono comunque un po' in ansia .

Queste ore di attesa , finchè non lo saprò al sicuro nella sua nuova casa , saranno eterne.

Ok, here we are.

The long dreaded moment has come.

Matteo has left  today for Cork where his new "family" is waiting for him and where he will stay for 5 long months.

I'm overjoyed fo him who has gone as calm and relaxed as if he were going to the cinema but I am a bit anxious all the same.

These hours of waiting , till I'll know that he is safely in his new home, will be eternal.

§ Catherine ha recentemente parlato dei kit della McQueenie e siccome sono curiosa come una scimmia mi sono precipitata a comprarne un paio.

Peccato che ne abbia ordinati così pochi...sono facili, veloci da costruire e danno GRANDE soddisfazione.

§ Recently Catherine wrote about McQueenie kits and , being as curious as a monkey , I run and bought a couple of them.

Alas I took so few ... they are easy, quick and they are of GREAT satisfaction.

§ Ho comprato uno stand per le piante e mi sono precipitata a  costruirlo.

§ I bought a plant stand and I hurried at building it.

§ Ed ecco il motivo: il mio porta piante in scala 1:1. Risale ai primi 900 ed apparteneva alla bisnonna Teresa.

 Sì, sempre lei, quella che con il marito doveva emigrare a San Francisco.

In realtà era una coppia ma mia cugina ed io ce li siamo spartiti dopo una lotta all'ultimo sangue.....

Spoilt rotten ((^_^))

My dear friend Cindy has spoilt me once more.

Not happy about presenting me with loads of wonderful minis when I was in Singapore, not having enough about sending Xmas presents and occasional ones , she sent me these cuties.

They made a long journey and they most probably did it on donkey back since it took them 33 days to arrive !!!

BUT .......  they are here now !!! and I am a happy happy happy girl  :o)

With a soft cloud of whipped cream ....... I  truly wish they were real although clay is much better for my waist line ;o)

AND... drums roll...CANDIES !!

The smaller, teeny tiner , cuter, lovelier candies .
Each one has its own fruit like sugar candies.

I am overwhelmed as always when it comes to Cindy's work . It's hardly believable that someone can actually work THAT small.
And keep her sanity too  ;o)

Here you can have an idea of how small they are, hardly 2 mm wide and absolutely PERFECT !!!!

Imagine .....

a valley , far from the sea whose scent, nonetheless, is still recognizable like a whiff of salty air.

Imagine steep hills covered with thick chestnuts and acacias woods.

Imagine the perfumes , the flavours of the leaves , the musky , hearthy smell of moist soil and mushrooms.

Imagine a steep widing road , its tar ruined by too many harsh winters but brightened up by sudden patches of sunlight breaking through the foliage.

Imagine a tiny perched village beset by the trees , protected by its church , its small houses nested together to protect themselves from cold and bracing winds.

Imagine a small home , a wee garden , a spectacular view of the valley and imagine to spend there more than 30 happy summers , holidays , Christmas vacations.

Imagine that same house , no longer home , so unchanged and yet so different , its stone walls imbued of memories , of laughter , of joy.
They were your joys but now they aren't any more.

No, I have done a big mistake going there today.

§ In questa calda estate la voglia di "miniaturare" si affievolisce un po'.

Se poi passi la maggior parte del tuo tempo lavorando  si riduce ai minimi termini.

Ogni tanto però succede qualcosa che risveglia gli amorosi sensi ...... a volte può bastare un catalogo.

§ During this hot summer the will of "miniaturasing" gets blunt.

If you spend most of your time at work it goes to the lowest terms.

But sometimes something happens which wakes up the love for minis ...... sometimes a catalogue is enough.

 §Il catalogo dei Granfoulard Bassetti contiene meravigliose fotografie ma solo l'ultima pagina ha fatto scattare la molla creativa ;o)

§ Bassetti Granfoulard catalogue contains wonderful pictures but only the last page clicked the creative key ;o)

§ Appena ho visto le mini repliche dei mezzeri ho pensato... QUADERNI !!!  e così ho tirato fuori il mio fido taglierino exacto , un foglio di carta bianca e la colla.
Prima o poi costruirò anche una piccola scena ma per ora mi accontento di tenerli in mano.  A presto (^_^)

Genova .......

...... è una città buffa .

Questo è il panorama che si può ammirare con una passeggiata di 13 minuti da casa mia.

Tredici minuti e si è in aperta campagna.

La cosa buffa è che se , partendo da casa , si cammina nella direzione opposta per 13 minuti si  arriva sulla riva del  mare.

Una città sottile come un nastro......

....... is a funny city.
This is the landscape which you can admire after a brief 13 minutes walk from my home.
Thirteen minutes and you are in the countryside.
The funny fact is that  if you walk from my home in the opposite direction for 13 minutes , then you'll be at the sea shore.
A city as stretched as a ribbon .....

Già di ritorno :o(( - We are already back :o((

Siamo già qui......

Sapevo che le nostre vacanze sarebbero state brevi ma abbiamo dovuto accorciarle ancora di più.

We are already here....

I knew that our holidays would have been short ones but we had to shorten them even more.

Come mai ?  per via del tempo !

Why ? because of the weather !

Questa è la bellissima Merano, la nostra prima tappa.

Qui abitano due cari amici e la  loro primogenita di soli due mesi , una bambolina di nome Alice e con loro abbiamo trascorso una deliziosa giornata.

This is beautiful Merano, our first stop.

Here live two friends and their first born, a little doll named Alice who is only two months old.

We spent a most delightful day and evening with them.

Poi , il giorno dopo, ci siamo spostati in Val Badia dove ci aspettava questa casetta dai balconi fioriti.....
The day after we moved to Val Badia where this house was waiting for us  with its flowery balconies....

..... e dalle camere accoglienti.
..... and with cozy rooms.

Ma ,ahimè, il tempo non era all'altezza della casetta.

But , alas, the weather was  not worth of the little house.

 

Per tre giorni ha piovuto !!!!  ha nevicato in quota !!! e le previsioni per la prossima settimana non sono migliori :o(((
It rained for three days !!! it snowed on the peaks !!! and forecast for next week are not at all encouraging :o(((

Abbiamo gironzolato in macchina per i paesini vicini ma non abbiamo potuto fare le belle passeggiate che ci eravamo ripromessi.
Dimenticavo..... la temperatura massima è stata 7° C !!
We strolled around by car to the neighbouring villages but we couldn't do the nice trekkings which we were looking for.
I forgot ..... maximum temperature was 7°C !!

Così ce ne siamo andati a Verona che per noi era una novità.
Vi lascio con l'Arena ......
Se guardate attentamente potrete vedere delle comparse vestite da Egiziani , ovviamente in onore dell' Aida.

So we went to Verona where we had never been before.
I leave you with the Arena , a Roman amphitheathre where concerts are held.
If you look closely you'll see two actor dressed up in Egiptian costumes. This because Aida is the best known opera performed in the Arena.
